This used to happen to me, I would fluctuate about 3-4lbs over the course of a couple of days.

Haha I am exactly the same. I try not to weigh myself too frequently for that very reason and just bear in mind the overall trend :)

Because you eat, shower, etc. I think you're only supposed to weigh in once per week because of that..but I am guilty too since I've just started losing weight. Once I hit a "normal" weight I tend to go up/down five lbs often!

Mine fluctuates so much right now in pregnancy. This last doctor's appt I was really excited because I was finally going to have no weight gain, according to my at home scale. But then the night before I noticed my feet swelling a lot. The next morning, my weight was the same but pretty much the second I got to work, my feet and ankles puffed up hugely. I started to drink tons of water.... By the time I got home, I was up 5 lbs and had to go to my appointment. I was SO upset, because I didn't think the doctor would believe that I'd just gained it all in the past 24 hours.

After peeing twice at the doctors, I was still up three lbs. suuuucked.

@artbee: ...and after I pee. Then I'm not measuring the water weight :)

I weigh myself naked before eating anything in the morning. I think that helps with consistency.

@shopaholic: I do usually drink a liter of water a day at least. Hmm.. It's so frustrating. Hehe, I can get competitive! ;)

Yes! All my life! I actually shouldn't be too alarmed, I've gone up/down 7lbs on many a days. I think I just retain and drink a lot of fluids.
Strangely enough, the ONLY time my weight didn't really fluctuate was while I was pregnant. I'd only fluctuate 1-2 lbs a day then. But now, I'm back to fluctuating 4-5lbs a day.

I'm always within a 5lb give or take range. Within one week I can be 5lbs up or down, sometimes 2/3lbs in the same day. I have a brand new scale, tested it. It's me. What gives?
I would totally be eliminated on The Biggest Loser.

(I'm doing a fitness challenge so I've been weighing in daily. Last week I was down almost 10lbs from the start but today I'm up 3lbs. It's also AF week, grrr)

Does this happen to anyone else?
