With #1 I tried a couple times but it was messy and she was not a fan, so I didn't try any further than that. #2 we are doing more "baby wearing" with though.

i waited almost a month before i started. i was mostly at home in the winter and my mom was around to help, so she could hold the baby while i did stuff. it was when she was getting close to leaving that i realized i should figure it out if i wanted to get anything done. then i slowly got hugely into it.

Till he was six months I was afraid of how breakable he was. But then he got heavy and I became a baby wearer

We had a carrier with #1, but I never really used it. I rarely left the house with E (too anxious) and, when I did, I always drove so she was in the car seat. DH used to wear her in the evenings during her colic happy hour, and dance to ska punk (it was the only way to stop her crying) but I was always too nervous to try to put her in by myself. In retrospect, it was a good thing because it was a "crotch dangler" and I didn't even know that was an issue until E was a toddler!

I've invested in a decent carrier this time and I intend to wear this one all the time!

I have an Ergo, but I very rarely use it. He was always happy in his car seat and now a stroller. I only really baby wore when we were going to be out in the cold and I wanted to make sure they stayed warm, which was rare.

Well, we have a Boba wrap and an Ergo360 and I really fancied a Tula, but my son really helped us decide it wasn't for us. He just doesn't like to be worn. He was a cranky, sweaty mess, and always slept better sprawled out in his own crib. I still wear him in the airport and on a plane to calm him down if he's hysterical at 15 months, but that's pretty much it. I know lots of moms who have preached babywearing to me and feel its super important for lots of reasons, but I just have to assume the kiddos themselves are open to it. Mine just isn't, so I'm not going to force him into it. We'll see how my next baby does with it!

I tried it but I can count on my fingers the # of times - my baby struggled hardcore, and when he did take a nap in there, he woke up a miserable hot sweaty mess. FX baby wearing goes better with #2. I'm hoping to try a Ergo next time.

Both of my kids were pretty big babies and I had c-sections. I would casually ergo around the house but it really aggravated my back and ab pain at the beginning. Then I went back to work with #1. And now that I'm pretty healed and feeling good with number 2, I am reluctant to wear her because she has the worst reflux and spits up on everything all day. I already have to change clothes too often!

Babywearing is pretty common here in Seattle but I have heard there are other cities where it's not common.
