Oh honey I know. I was so irritated by this. My grandmother was the worst. She called me every day asking if I had any updates. I finally just quit answering her calls at some point. You are almost there !!!

Omg. I would be so mortified if someone asked about my cervix. But, knowing my office, I'm sure it'll happen. I was told by a coworker than another coworker was several cm dilated and that's why she'd gone home instead of coming in after her dr appt. I was just like "uhhh. okay." I think a simple "the doctor said the baby will probably make her appearance in the next day or so, so she headed home" would've sufficed.

@ladyfingers: Haha, me too. People would ask me at like, 26 weeks if I was going to have a c-section and I would say uhhh not that I know of? I always wanted to say, 'Well yeah, how else was I going to schedule my Tummy Tuck for right after?'

@JerricaBenton: Yeah when people ask me what kind of birth I'm having or what my "plans" for birth are, I get cheeky and pretend like I have no clue what they're asking me. "My plan is when the baby starts coming, to go to the hospital?"

@ladyfingers: Yeah - I don't even understand the birth questions - like no I'm not planning to have a c-section or be induced but who knows?

@Phillybaby2013: The weirdest think about the BFing questions is that half the people will be like, 'don't worry about it - breastfeeding sucks/hurts so bad/ you won't be able to leave the house...' or 'Breast is best/You have to do it!/ It's the best thing in the world!'

I actually sort of like telling nosy people that actually no, I'm not dilating at all yet because so many people are saying I'd have the baby early/at any time.

I know it is frustrating and so inappropriate, but I always tried to remind myself when I would get annoyed that those asking where usually doing so out of love and excitement for your baby. Hang in there!

Yes, at more than 37 weeks, I am definitely sick of "how are you feeling?" I know they mean well, but they don't want to hear any response other than "pretty good." (To which their response is: sleep now, and I have to try to keep myself from rolling my eyes. If you know a polite way to roll your eyes, please share!) If I tell them how I'm actually feeling, I know a "just you wait" will be coming my way, and that's SO MUCH WORSE! Arg.

@ladyfingers: I'm right there with you sister. I pretty much have to call my parents and in laws after my Dr appts to give them a report of my cervix. I was going to strangle my dad over the weekend when he called with a barrage of questions like "are u feeling anything? Any new symptoms?" And of course everyone I see at work has something to say. "oh ur still here?!!" - obviously bc if I had my baby I certainly wouldn't be here talking to you but thanks for pointing out that I'm still pregnant.

@JerricaBenton: i got a ton of the breastfeeding questions. I mentioned on another thread that a coworker told me to make sure I rough up my nipples before the baby gets here!! Can you please stop talking about my nipples or my boobs or my hoo-hah?!!! Geez.

@JerricaBenton: I have never gotten the breastfeeding topic -- I mean, how beyond rude -- but everybody is asking me "what kind of birth are you having? are you getting a c-section? are you getting induced?" I'm like, seriously? What a weird question.

Haha, I'm getting this now too. Honestly though, I prefer that topic to the endless barrage of 'are you breastfeeding?' and 'are you going to have a 'natural' birth?' plus all the opinions that go with them!

its so inappropriate. I dont know why people think that my uterus, cervix, or breasts (and how I planned to use any of them) are an acceptable topic of conversation, but when I was pregnant, even strangers thought they were.

People are so obnoxious. What is it with people and pregnant women?

I'm not even letting my midwife check me, cause there's no rhyme or reason for it. So, if they ask, I'll be honest and tell them I don't know. I have a feeling my mother in law is going to be the first one to ask me this.

haha, people seem to think once your body has been invaded by another little person, it's no longer your own and so they can ask all sorts of questions about it!!!

Luckily I work with all men, so I can't really picture any of them asking me these types of questions. They did ask me if they need to get some hot water ready in case I have to deliver here though, haha!

I haven't gotten to this point yet, but I am really worried about certain people in my office asking me about these types of things. I really think I'll end up being bitchy and sarcastic towards them.

I just think it's so rude, you'd never ask a man at work if his doctor thinks everything is fine with his balls!

I cannot even tell you how many people have asked me about the state of my cervix in the past week. "What did the doctor say? Are you dilated at all? Is there any progress down there?" Like, coworkers, random acquaintances, my husband's aunt. UGH!

The other one I like?
"So, did the doctor say when the baby's going to come?"
"Uh, they don't know."
"Yeah but they can tell how things are going down there, right?"
"Um, yes, but ... they still can't tell when he's going to come."

STOP talking about my "down there." Because if not, I'm going to tell you all about my "down there" after I have the baby, and you're not going to want to hear about that.

I also like, "How are you feeling today?" At work. At 39 weeks pregnant. I'm assuming they don't want me to respond, "Like the baby's going to fall out of my pee hole."
