I found a zinc based one that is apparently safe from birth on, it is by Neutrogena. I think the chemical ones are the ones to be aware of. The zinc based on does make him look white and pasty though!

My doctor said not to until 3 months, but he didn't say why and I didn't think to ask! He said to just make sure you wash it off her skin that night in the bath.

My DH and I are going to our beach house on Thursday and it is supposed to be pretty warm (75 degrees). I plan on keeping LO out of the sun and wearing a sun hat and all that just to be safe. However, I am sure she will be in the sun a little bit (like when I am holding her and walk her down to the water, etc.) but I keep reading it is unsafe to put sunscreen on babies.

Why is this? Is there any sort of sunscreen that is safe?
