@MsLipGloss: Just when I think they are getting better, she wakes up at 445 (Saturday) but I do think we are heading in the right direction. DH and I both agree at least she is sleeping through the night, at least. Hopefully once this darn tooth comes in and the cold is gone, it will help. This morning I think coughing woke her up.

@Smurfette: Ours wakeups got incrementally better like you describe . . . 4:00, 4:30, and then 5:00ish . . . and then finally 5:45/6:00, with a couple of setbacks here and there. Awww, I am sure she will reclaim the last 15ish minutes or so pretty soon! (((hugs)))

@MsLipGloss: Yay! Baby Gloss!!!

Yesterday she slept till 630 but she has been sick, so that might be it. But today she was up at 545 and then passed out as soon as the car started to go to day care. Which is still better then 5, but I miss the October mornings.

So pretty much we aren't back to normal yet

@Smurfette: Just wanted to check in and see how you (and your LO) are doing on the sleep front? Fwiw, BabyGloss has just now fallen back into a pattern of sleeping until 6 (this morning she slept in until 6:30) . . . so, it took about a month for us to recover from DLS!

@Smurfette: I have no advice, but I do have good news: Once she's around 4-5 years old, you can buy her a digital clock and tell her that she can't show her face until the first number is a 7, lol.

DS is such an early bird, and I started that last year and it works like a dream.

So, it's not forever. :)

Well last night she woke up at 350, and talked to herself till 415/420 and she was back asleep. She talks to herself every night to fall asleep as well, weirdo baby.

Then I woke her up at 640!! I don't remember the last time she slept that late. I hated having to wake her. I changed her diaper, threw on some clothes and we were off to day care. Her teacher just gave her the first bottle, so I missed my morning snuggles, but I am glad that she got some sleep.

Fingers crossed this continues!

This happened to us, too, right before the time change. I agree with that was said above that it could be a major developmental period. She started sitting up, rolling even more among other things during and right after that. She's now waking up 6 - 6:15 as usual these days. Her babysitter and I tried to keep her on as consistent a schedule as possible. It sucks, but it will be over soon.

@Smurfette: oh i know, 4:45am is still night time in my book! I found this site to be helpful, but basically, it could be happening due to a million reasons, lol ...but yes, too early of a nap can cause early wakings as well as over tiredness if your LO doesn't nap well at daycare.

@NovBaby1112: I know I shouldn't complaint since she is STTN, outside random crying out in her sleep, but 445 is so early on on Saturday!!
Really, about the naps? She isn't on any kid of schedule at all. We just put her down when she shows her first sign of being tired. She doesn't go down for a nap till like 930 or 10 at day care. But she ends up taking a 10-15 mins cat nap in the car ride.

Honestly, I think babies just go through phases of early wakings- when they are going through a lot developmentally or if they are in a nap transition period, etc. I know how much it sucks, so I feel ya! My LO goes through random early waking phases that can last up to a month- but then out of the blue will start waking at a later and later time. We've also tried earlier BT and later BT, but she will still wake up at the same time regardless. And by the time we are ready to pull our hair out, she goes back to sleeping in until a decent hour. Baby sleep is always changing, so that helps me keep my sanity at 5am :) We went through something similar at the time change where LO was waking up around 5:30am, but it is slowly starting to itch towards 6:30, but it has taken awhile. We try to leave her in her crib until at least 6am.

One thing I would def suggest, is even if she wakes at say 5am, do not put her down for a nap at 7- that is way too early and even if she seems tired, the early waking cycle will keep perpetuating itself because she will see that first nap as a continuation of night sleep. I would wait until at least 8/8:30.

R was sleeping 7-6/630 every day till the time change. Then it took her 2 weeks to get adjusted. For almost a week she was back to waking up at 6-630. Now for over a week she is back to waking up at 530 or earlier. Sat morning she woke up at 445. What the heck? I put her down for a nap at 7 and she slept 2 1/2 hours. So I know she is tired, she never did long naps like that before. And she won't on days she is day care. So she is really not getting enough sleep.

This morning she woke up at 430, talked to herself for 10 mins and went back asleep. And boom, 530 on the dot woke up.

We have tried going to bed earlier and later, and still 530

We leave her in the crib as long as we can. During the week she needs to get up by 615 so it isn't like we can leave her in there till it is light out.

What is going on? Could this be the 9 month regression?
