@PawPrints: oh I know, and I definitely consider it... it would be easier, and I miss our bedtime cuddles! but LO zonks out at the breast for bedtime. He doesn't do that with the bottle. Seeing him drink the full amount helps me feel better about not nursing him for any night wakings (which have decreased dramatically since implementating this system.)

We have the same schedule in regards to nursing and pumping. However, I have to pump before bed to empty out my boobs because otherwise, they're like an annoying alarm clock that wakes me up at like 2 or 3am super engorged and painful. If your's don't hurt or get engorged, then I'm all for dropping your 9pm pump session. Cleaning parts is annoying! lol

You didn't ask this, but - if you are at all interested in making life easier for yourself, there really is no need to pump a bottle for him to eat before bedtime. Unless his doctor has some concerns about his weight gain/growth, you would be fine to just nurse him and save yourself the trouble. Generally speaking, at that age, you can trust your baby to eat as much as he needs to. Just a thought.

@DesertDreams88: Ahh, ok. As long as you aren't pulling from your stash to cover it, then I think you're fine. You have a buffer in your freezer, so if you notice that cutting that pump is hurting your supply you can always add it back.

@autumnleaves: I've had an oversupply, then it went down for about a month due to travel (less water, shorter sessions, no extra pumping), now it's back up to slight oversupply.

@Truth Bombs: See, that's the thing, between my 2-3 pumps at work, I cover all of his bottles. So that last pump at 9 is more for timing / adding to my freezer stash (which is 100oz... not a ton, but it's there.)

You need to pump at least as often as he eats, so if he's taking a bottle at 7:30, you need to pump sometime in the evening to account for that.

@DesertDreams88: has your supply been OK? I think if you haven't had supply issues, it's fine to drop that pump. I had an oversupply and the LC encouraged me to drop that pump and it's been fine. I had a week of really bad engorgement in the MOTN.

Drop the 9pm pump. It will be fine. :)

@simplyfelicity: haha, I wish! No, I give him a bottle around 7:30 to make sure he is totally full before bed, and then he sleeps about 8pm-6:30ish. Sometimes he wakes around 5 and I do a quick feed then too.

@DesertDreams88: Does your LO sleep from 5pm to 7 am?!? Unless you need the milk from that last pump, I wouldn't worry about it. Especially since you are past the really sensitive time period with supply and demand, you should be fine. You might feel engorged for a few days. Your body will get used to it.

Currently, this is my schedule:
6:45 nurse
9:15 pump
12:15 pump
3:15 pump possibly (depending on LO's last nap time)
5, maybe 530 nurse
9:00 pump

I REALLY want to drop that 9pm pump but I think going basically 5pm-7am will hurt my supply. Yes or no? What do you think?

LO is 6mo. His basic schedule (changes with naps
6:45 nurse
10:00 bottle
1:30 bottle
5/5:30 nurse
7:30 bottle (I like being able to SEE that he gets enough before bed, that's why I don't nurse at this time.)
