I used the ergo with the insert. You can tighten the strap that you buckle at the top of your back and it doesn't feel like it's falling off your shoulders.

I would say a ring sling. They're great and incredibly versatile.

i think the ktan or the ergo with insert would work fine, but if you prefer the Gemini (I do!) then maybe it would be worth it to sell the ktan and ergo and see if you can get enough to cover the Gemini! I got mine second hand off craigslist for 50$. it's faded but works perfect :)

@luckypenny: I agree! Ergo with the infant insert was awful during June/July weather :( DS was born in March and the Moby was great for April and some of May but it became too hot after a while. I'm expecting LO2 in June and I've purchased a ring sling from Sleeping Baby Productions. I've heard wonderful reviews about her products!

I used the k'tan and boba wrap when LO was a newborn, and then switched to the ergo when she got a little bigger. Have you tried tightening the straps?

I got a lovey dud off etsy and loveeeee it! Organic cotton so more breathable than moby or Ktan.

I do put dd in ergo if I forget wrap with blanket underneath, but like wrap better.

I just used the Ergo with the insert. I know what you mean about feeling like it's going to fall off the shoulders, but I kept the back strap really tight so I knew it wouldn't and learned to live with it.

We used the K'tan for the first time on the day we brought DD home from the hospital. We loved it till she was about five months. I have a Beco Gemini as well, but I plan to use the K'tan again in the newborn days

I got a sakura bloom ring sling from a local listserv that I'm hoping to use with LO #2. I'm due today so when baby shows up I'll let you know. I didn't like the ergo with a newborn because it was summer and way way way too hot. Same with Moby.

@HLK208: If you know you love the Gemini, and don't like the straps of the Ergo, I'd sell the Ergo and get another Beco :) You want to be comfortable wearing it!

I really liked the Ktan for newborn days. She was so snuggly in there. We transitioned to the Ergo (without infant insert) at 5-6 months. We tried with the insert but didn't love it.

When DD was born I wore her in the Beco Gemini. I looooved it. I recently got an Ergo with the insert but I don't like how the straps feel like they're slipping off my shoulders. The head piece to my Beco broke so I don't think I can wear it with a newborn but I could with an older baby with more head support.

I also bought a K'tan but have read 50/50 reviews saying their baby loved/hated it or mom loved/hated it.

I need something for the newborn days specifically. Babywearing was the only way I got by with 2 LO's and I'm sure with 3, I'll need my hands free. Should I bite the bullet and buy another Beco Gemini? Sell the Ergo? See how baby fits in Ergo? I like that the Beco is so basic and it didn't take a lot of practice to get the hang of it.
