They were able to measure to tell us that the baby was right on track for what I had calculated as my EDD. If it's too early to see or hear a heartbeat, I'd ask to go back in a week. With a previous pregnancy, we saw it at 6+4. But so early, it will be very contingent on your dates - a day or two can make a big difference - and on the equipment and skill of the tech. I've never had an appointment that early but saw the heartbeat for my first at 8 weeks. I was surprised! If it's there yet. And you might only be able to see it, not hear it. </p> <p>I probably wouldn't go in expecting it. Based on my LMP I will be 6w1d. I know that many say that they were able to hear a heartbeat at 6w. However, I have a feeling I'm not quite 6 weeks yet, I typically ovulate a day or 2 later than the norm. MY guess is that I'm closer to 5w5d. Do I still have a chance of hearing the heartbeat? I have been a ball of nerves and I feel like hearing that could calm me a bit. </p> <p>TIA! </p>
