I want to be more strict than DH's parent's, they let him get away with a lot! I was expected to do well in school, participate in my sports, do chores around the house, and had a curfew in high school. I think I turned out pretty well. DHs parents were insanely strict and he was a little hellion! They didn't let me just go off by myself, they drove me everywhere, and gave me a curfew. But they were flexible where appropriate. I'll be as strict. When I was 15 I thought they were the worst, but now I look back and realize that they were just right. I just hope Charlie and Olive turn out to be good kids and we don't need to be that strict. I want them to push themselves rather than need us to constantly push them to do well. Mr Bee's parents were pretty strict and he did very well, and my parents were strict and I was a bad, rebellious girl. So maybe it's just luck of the draw. Because of my experience though, I hope I can be less strict while Mr. Bee probably wants to be more strict than I do. Do you want to be as strict, less, or more strict than your parents were?
