We haven't really celebrated Valentine's Day in years. This year, however, I'm getting him something but its because I wanted to do it and V Day just happens to be around the corner. He lost his wedding band on Christmas Eve and we still haven't found it (its in our house...somewhere). So I secretly re-ordered his ring last week and I picked it up yesterday. I'm always big on celebrating holidays. I was also always big into presents before having a kid! I used to demand my present several days before. The past few years I just wanted a really cool, nice dinner since we never got to go out anymore, and one of my favorite things to do ever is go out to eat. This year Rob Sr. made all kinds of reservations for me to choose from as usual, but I said "oh, it'll be too tough to find a sitter, let's just skip it." Other couples celebrate and singles like to go out on v-day together, so finding a sitter is impossible. So I just emailed my friend who likes to sit for RJ from time to time and asked her to pick a day in February or early March when she'd like to babysit. She actually picked the 15th, so we'll be going to dinner that night. </p> <p>I do not expect a present this year (and I don't really want one... if we do presents we usually shop together because I'm sick of all the clutter in our house and only want things I know I need/want!) but we are actually about to leave for our joint birthdays/v-day present to each other-- our spa weekend in Newport, RI!!! :D </p> <p>Rob Sr. usually does send Winston Flowers to me on v-day though. This year I'll actually be at work and have a cubicle to display them in!
