<description>&#60;p&#62;I keep them in the box and let them open the presents as is. Assembling is part of the fun for my boys. They grab their tools and help DH, even if it's just putting in some batteries. It's pretty cute.

<description>&#60;p&#62;we learned quickly after her first birthday and her first Christmas (that she understood, anyway, technically her second) that toddlers have zero patience for opening and assembling toys. we pre-opened/assembled/battery loaded, then put back in the box, anything that needed it last year so she could just unwrap and play quickly! &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I will do the same this year. I did notice on DD2's Violet that they've actually designed the box now to allow you to program it without opening it - perfect for gifting!!
