I personally was never attached to a certain toy or doll growing up - I was way more into books - so its hard to imagine wanting a doll that badly. I guess if my daughter really, really wanted one and I was convinced she'd play with it for a long time, I might consider it for a special occasion, like Christmas, or birthday, or for straight A's or something. DH wouldn't have a problem with it at all.</p> <p>On an added note, I always see these dolls on Craigslist. My friend got a retired doll that matches her daughter's name that way. Tax and shipping adds up fast. Initially I wanted to get one with ears pierced, but my husband vetoed the add-on.
