If it's something I'm there helping with then absolutely. What's the point in having them help otherwise? However, if it's something my ten year old and her friend make alone in the kitchen it would depend. Hopefully I will be able to trust that I've taught my child decent enough food preparation skills that I can trust something like that but it would definitely depend on the ingredients used. Of course she'll do simple things like dumping a cup of flour into a bowl, and mixing. But my husband says he probably won't want to eat her food, lol. It's pretty well known that LO's usually put their fingers int heir noses, ears, mouth, etc. But of course I'd keep an eye on her and make her wash her hands. </p>
