Depends on the environment in which it's made. If it's something I'm there helping with then absolutely. What's the point in having them help otherwise? However, if it's something my ten year old and her friend make alone in the kitchen it would depend. Hopefully I will be able to trust that I've taught my child decent enough food preparation skills that I can trust something like that but it would definitely depend on the ingredients used. If it's nothing that can harm me if not handled/cooked properly then yes, I'll at least try it.

@artbee: yes it was through her school! they made simple sandwiches, salads, smoothies, icebox cake and a few other things, I forgot! They would make and eat their creations at school then come home with a copy of the recipe (and sometimes leftovers) for us!

My LO made an icebox cake at her school's cooking class last summer ... It was basically layers of Oreos and whip cream. She took it home for us to eat. It didn't look pretty, but it was yummy!!

@Mrsbells: My sister and her friend used to do all sorts of cooking experiments. I don't remember if my mom actually tried them though. Gross.

Yeek! Well, I currently eat food that's been in my LO's mouth. I'll even pick the food off her body and floor and eat it.
So I'm sure I'll try the food she makes. Ha. I plan on cooking with my LO too.

I'm planning on baking with LO as soon as I can. Of course she'll do simple things like dumping a cup of flour into a bowl, and mixing. But my husband says he probably won't want to eat her food, lol. It's pretty well known that LO's usually put their fingers int heir noses, ears, mouth, etc. But of course I'd keep an eye on her and make her wash her hands.
