To put a baby through any kind of unnecessary pain for fashion is unacceptable for myself and our family. It's not like earrings won't be around when she is old enough to ask for them. I also won't let her get a boob job or pierce her nose as an infant so at least I'm consistent haha :) I should mention that I don't even have pierced ears because I never wanted them. I just don't like the look. That's what chores and pets are for. lol We do a lot of things for our kids that they don't have a say in.<br /> Plus, there are many many cultures on the planet that pierce their little girls ears without asking them. If she doesn't like them when she's older, she can take them out. Yes, weeks. Luckily they turned out almost even, well not really. I got a second set of ear piercings when I was 13 years old. When I had both in, you could really tell that the first set was not even. However, alone they look just fine. One benefit is that they will NEVER close up. If I remember correctly, it was my birthday treat. At that age, with mom's help, I was old enough take care of them. To this day, earrings are my favorite jewelery to wear (besides my wedding rings).
