Even if its just something small. One family I knew had four kids so every four years each kid would get a big party. So one big party a year. I like that idea! If we have threes kids then each kid would get a great party every three years. They could choose a day at the zoo or aquarium, a live show, etc... plus choose where to eat and maybe a pick out a special present out. My friends do this with their kids, and they have done some really cool things in lieu of birthday parties. Having said that, DD is insanely excited for her 3 year old birthday (she made DH pinky swear not to forget the date) so we're going to throw her a party this year. I hope she'll choose a fun outing next year, though!
