LO is in grade 1 and she attends an in-house YMCA aftercare program at her school. For no more than 20 mins, 3 afternoons a week. I am able to drop her right to her classroom in the mornings. DH already does drop-off in the morning so I can get in early to make that possible. If I decide to stay full-time, we'd probably get a nanny/baby-sitter if possible as opposed to aftercare. School day starts at 8:50, drop off is at 8:30. We thought about doing after care till 6pm but it would just make his day too long. Plus in the fall and spring we want him to get extra play ground time. I'm a counselor in private practice part time right now, so I'm just trying to focus my trainings on adolescent treatment, and build a solid amount of experience in the area. My mom was a school teacher, and it was awesome to have the same schedule as her. Hoping to do the same. Our town has public pre-k starting at 3 years old, so if we get into one of the closer locations (it's a lottery system), she will go and we'll have to pay for before AND after care.</p> <p>Pre-k is 8:30-2:30. Before care is 7:30-8:30 and after care is 2:30-5:30. This is offered at the preschool itself--for working parents that need later hours, a few child care centers in town do pick up/drop off after care until 6:30 pm.
