My LO refused a bottle from anyone. Actually, we had to supplement for the first few days (jaundice) and he took a bottle then. But after months had passed, he would freak out at the sight of a bottle. I really regret not giving him a bottle every now and then so he'd be used to it.

He will happily take milk from anyone offering. I hear boys don't struggle with nipple confusion as much? No idea if it's true, though.

@erinpye: I'm worried about this! DS was such an easy baby apart from being a terrible sleeper. I'm scared when LO#2 arrives, s/he'll be the complete opposite of big bro - ahhhhh!!!

We are atarting to supplement, and it's hit or miss. She is actually more likely to take a bottle from me than anyone else!

If I pump, which is very very rare, she will scream bloody murder and refuse to take a bottle. I'm up now for the second time tonight bc she wouldn't take a bottle of pumped milk for DH.

No way - neither one of them has ever taken a bottle really. We were able to get DD1 to take the occasional 10 ml bottle with her probiotic when she was very young, but that was very hit or miss, more often miss really, and I definitely could not be around when that happened. DD2 has never once taken a bottle from me or anyone else.

I don't think lo has ever refused a bottle from anyone unless she actually wasn't hungry! I had low supply though so when we started giving bottles to supplement at 2 months she was so hungry she had no trouble taking it. We did have some issues nursing sometimes bc she had a bottle preference but now at 10.5 months we have a lovely bf relationship still

DS is 9 months and he won't take a bottle, period. Not from me or anyone else. It's very stressful. I have a two-day conference to go to for work this week (I usually work from home) and I'm getting a hotel room for DS and the nanny so I can rush down and feed him during the conference without having to drive all the way back home.

DD (4 months) reaches out and gets super excited when she sees her bottle, doesn't matter who is giving it to her. I pump when I'm at work but nurse whenever I'm home with her. We actually have to hide the bottle from her when she's done because she'll keep trying to grab it. So no, no problems with me giving her a bottle! Lol.

My kids have been supplemented (with formula bottles) from day 4. They take bottles better from me than anyone else. They have gone through phases where they will only take a bottle from me, actually. However, DD refuses to take a bottle in the night and will only nurse. If my husband tries to go in and soothe her or give a bottle she will freak out. DS will take a bottle some of the time during the night, but prefers to only nurse.

I am always hearing and reading about how baby won't take a bottle from mom if she breastfeeds. I have never had that problem! R is 10w and EBF with the occasional bottle and he doesn't seem to care where the milk comes from! Often dad will start giving him a bottle and if something comes up I will finish giving it to him - or if we do a bed time bottle he will start giving it and then I will finish while he puts our other son to bed. I'm not sure whether to be psyched or offended! (Kidding mostly. It makes life easier).

Does your bf baby take a bottle from you?
