It is not a holiday. They post a list sometime in November to let parents sign up if they want to send their child between Christmas and New Years. If they get above a certain number opting in, they will remain open with a limited staff, otherwise they close. But they said they rarely have enough people opting in. None of the daycares we have gone to have stayed closed that entire week.
