I really would like him to have the extra time, because he's young by the cut off (December birthday and the cut off is Dec 31). I know that I can teach an entire preschool curriculum here at home for next to free lol but there are other benefits a school setting gives, like socialization, sharing, interaction with teachers, etc.. </p> <p>I think it depends what our life is like at the time. If I've started working, yes, I will put him in preschool. When we moved out here to CA and she was 4.5yo, we looked for a pre-K program for this fall and stumbled upon a school that had both pre-K and TK. The differences between the two classes are minimal, but I just happened to like the TK room more. She's ready for it, so she'll be going to TK next month, and Kinder at 5.5 yo next year.
