I'm the baby in my family by more than a decade, so my nieces are in middle school. My husband's siblings aren't married or engaged yet so kids are probably at least a few years away for them.</p> <p>We refer to our close friends' as Auntie and Uncle, and their kids as her cousins though, so hopefully she'll never feel a shortage of familiar similar ages kids. She will have one cousin who is 18 mo older than her, but he lives in NYC (we're in Ohio). That is my DH's sister's kid, and she is 32 and not married or dating anyone so I don't see her having any more kids for a while, if at all. My only brother is married but he's 37 and still no kids and is making a late-in-life career change. I have one brother. I think everyone will end up having about 2 kids average, so that will be 12 cousins or second cousins to have.</p> <p>That said, DH live away from both sides of our family, so I don't know how much interaction they will have growing up. Also, I grew up with a TON of cousins nearby and my brother and I are not close to them.
