We'll count and I'll say one, and then she says "2, 3, 4." And then I say what comes first, can you say 1? And she says "2, 3, 4." For a few months now, my youngest (almost 21 months) would always say her name was her older sister's when we would ask. She says it and then smiles, so I know she's joking. It was a little frustrating sometimes though... But yeah, it's a common hang up I guess? </p> <p>Finally, like two days ago, she started saying her name. So cute! But there are still times I ask her and she refuses. He used to call himself baby. Then he started to spell out the letters in his name. I'll give him a break since his name is more difficult to pronounce. He knows everyone else's. he will pound on his own chest and say "mama" though. I thought maybe he can't pronounce his name but.. He will imitate the sounds that make up his name just fine. I've asked a few other mommy's and their LOs will all at least try to say their name. It's weird, she shuts her mouth as soon as I ask. I'll point to myself and ask, "Who's this?" and she'll say, "Mama." She says our names, her grandparents, and all of her aunts and uncles names (or at least tries since some of them are kinda hard to say), but she won't even attempt to say her own name. She also loves to repeat us now, but if I ask her to repeat her name she stops.</p> <p>Did your LO refuse to say their name or does she just have some weird hang up? </p>
