We did aisle when we flew. We ended up not having to walk around with her, but our flight was only 2 1/2 hours.

I think aisle-- murphy's law is that you'll have to get up 100 times during the flight to soothe/change/etc. the baby, and I'd rather not bother that person any more than I already am!

I'd say depends on your LO. Is she content to sit in your lap and play and is generally non fussy? Does she sleep well in your arms? If so, I would take the window. If you think she'll need to be walked around, then aisle.

Good thread since the consensus is for an aisle seat! We're traveling at Christmas with a 5 month old as well and I thought picking a window seat would be better for breast feeding and having an arm rest to myself in case DS falls asleep. Looks like I need to go change my seats now! Our flight is 3 hours long.

I think it depends on the length of the flight. I flew on a short flight, and the window was best. DS was 5 months and liked looking out the window. Also since you're BF on ascent and decent it's nice to have some privacy. I would have your husband sit next to you, because BF'ing next to a stranger would be awkward (for me at least).

Also, make sure to have an extra out fit for LO and for you and dad. Nothing worse than smelling like sour milk for a long period of time.

Good luck!

Aisle for sure. So much easier to get up and walk around with LO if she gets fussy, or to make a quick escape to the bathroom for a diaper change.

I lucked out on my flight and had the whole row to myself! Maybe you'll luck out too.

I would say aisle. LO is too young to look out the window, and you may need to walk up and down a lot to soothe. But she is breastfeeding, so that shouldn't be a problem.... still I prefer aisle because I don't want to bother the person in the middle for changing stinky diaper, walk fussy baby, etc.

Aisle. My LO refuses to stay seated for long, so I am always walking up around with her.

If you're going to be breastfeeding, then I would for sure say window. It was so much easier to breastfeed in the window seat, than to have to worry about LO hanging out in the aisle. Hopefully your LO will just sleep most of the way and you won't have to get up and walk.

Traveling with SO and LO, would you rather the window or aisle on a plane? For our Christmas flights we did the book an aisle an window seat and hope no one sits in between us trick, but it's a few days before Christmas- I'm sure it will be full. Of course we will ask the middle seat person if they mind switching but I'm wonder which we should keep.

I plan to breastfeed as much as I can on the flight (around 5 hours), so the window would be good for that, but I'm thinking being able to stand and walk will be important too. If the other person wants to get up while Lo is sleeping that could be an issue too of course. She will be almost 5 months, so definitely not mobile yet at least!

Thoughts? Or should we just make the stranger sit between us the whole way and pass LO back and forth over them?? :)
