Wait for this thing Home Depot does once or twice a year. Its like all you can blind for $49 installation. They send a guy to come measure all of your windows, then you go in to pay for the order, and then they come and install. We did all of our house in 2" faux wood blinds for $600 and then if you want it to look fancier, you can easily nail in pieces of trim over each window casing with finishing nails and paint it over for a few bucks. We only did the trim in the living areas and left the bedrooms plain because we had curtains.

We used blinds.com and had a really good experience. They sent three that were cut the wrong size and replaced them, no questions asked, after I contacted them. DH installed them painlessly.

You can definitely do it yourself. We installed all our blinds and shades.

DH got our blinds cut to fit at Home Depot and installed them himself. But we also don't have a ton of windows so it wasn't a huge job.

Adventures of a new homeowner continue...window treatments. Is this something I can realistically DIY in terms of installing blinds or best to leave it to a pro?
