They never got wet on the inside and were fleece insulated, even when the outside was wet. I found it pretty easy to loosen the elastic laces and we never struggled getting them on. Last year we had a hand me down pair of sorels for LO, which were plenty warm but kind of hard to get on. </p> <p>This year I expect she will be walking more, but actual time outside playing in the snow will probably still be limited since we will have a newborn. So looking for something she can walk well in, easy to get on, and warm enough but they don't have to be the warmest ever. If this winter is anything like last year, playing in the snow will be limited since it will be taller than her again! (Dear god, please let that not be true!) </p>
