They are waterproof on the bottom and so so warm (but they do have suede on the uppers, so I don't wear them while shoveling). I have had mine for 3 winters and they are still going strong. We had two big snowstorms last year where we got 11" of snow, but other than that, we didn't have any snow beyond a dusting. Trekked through tons of water and snow and they've held up well! They're waterproof and keep my feet very warm. I love in Upstate NY where we get subzero wind chills and snows from October till march. I need to be able to walk through un shoveled sidewalks.<br /> Look goes completely out the window for me and all I care are if the boot is insulated, weather/water/winter proof. A lot of boots touted as "winter" boots are NOT water proof!!!!</p> <p>Definitely something at least mid calf, shearling insulated and waterproof. I have a pair of UGGs (not the classics, those are only for looks) that have lasted me four winters and still going. I buy Sorel for my daughter. Again they're not all waterproof. Check 6pm.com<br /> The ones you linked would not work for me.
