He tried slipping out the front door as quickly as possible but DS saw anyways, which meant he spent the next 30 minutes going "Dada? Dada?" to every little noise hoping that it was DH walking back through the door. I just had to keep telling him that 'dada' had gone bye bye. </p> <p>Thankfully both kids went down for a nap at the same time but also woke up at the same time an hour and a half later. At least it gave me a chance to try and tempt them with some different raw veggies. DS wasn't game at first until I introduced hummus to dip them in. DD was super interested in the seeds of the grape tomatoes that I halved for her. It was a fun mess.</p> <p>I've even managed to feed us supper already without yelling or burning the food or the house down. Score! It was even somewhat healthy - three cheese mac n cheese with ham and oven roasted asparagus. Bunnies are in and I'm just counting down until bed time... Again. This time, it's in Chicago, he'll be driving out tomorrow with another mechanic from his shop. Class starts Monday and ends Friday afternoon, then he and the other mechanic will be driving home. That puts him getting home really late Friday night long after the children have gone to bed. </p> <p>I know I'm a SAHM, this is my job but I reeeeeaaaally look forward to four o'clock when I know the calvarie is about to come charging to the rescue. For the next week, not only am I going to have to disappoint little man, who is 2 and now understands that 'dada' is gone but he'll come back later and play and put him to bed, but I'm also going to have to take up the slack. </p> <p>So for the next week I get to deal with one year old little miss, two year old little man, two bunnies, one super annoying and bitey parrot, and all their upkeep - plus taking care of myself - but also dishes, laundry, meals, will all have to be done by me with no breaks. Bed time, which is usually a divide and conquer maneuver will suddenly become a tandem thing - which is good, we're talking about getting the kids to room together starting the week after this one. Bath with two babies will have to be done with one set of hands versus two sets of hands. And worst of all I'll have to take out the trash and diaper pail. *Shudder* I don't mind changing diapers, I just don't like dealing with them after they've, um, fermented...</p> <p>The good news is that I'll have a little help. My folks will be stopping by a few times during the week on their way home and I have a friend who is supposed to drop by. But then I also have to go and have some dental work done bright and early Monday morning... Oi vey...</p> <p>So any kind words, kind thoughts, super easy (since I don't cook often) supper recipes, and maybe some chocolate (just kidding... kinda...) would be greatly appreciated. </p>
