I think acupuncture and the diet my acupuncturist put me on were the keys to my success with secondary infertility. I tried for 6 months and nothing happened and then started acupuncture and got pregnant 3 times in 8 months (the last few months with a fantastic acupuncturist and finally got my rainbow baby).

I had several losses but I didn't go too far into this stuff. I took prenatals for all, B complex once (still miscarried), and for my last pregnancy, I was put on progesterone supplements at around 4 weeks.

I also tried to eat relatively clean and stay fit while TTC, plus I reduced my caffeine intake a bit and basically stopped drinking alcohol altogether.

A few days ago I met with the doctor about getting pregnant and he said my eggs are not mature yet! I am still not getting it how can I get over this situation.

I mean like what the hell infertility is ? and Why the fuck it happens to me? You are brave that you get out of everything and living great lives.

HI, ladies! I have read her story and her questions. I believe it is really good to help others. I had been there and faced the same situation that she is facing it right now!

Dear! you are doing all the right things. Even you can go for several tests to go for the several tests and achieve the impossible thing in life.

I understand the process is painful and it takes time. But keep going you will get out of it. If you are not aware of current circumstances then you should start the day with some blessings. It's all difficult with having a child and making it better in life.

Just keep trying to conceive and have faith that you will get the best result soon.

Much love

@LaughLines: I also took baby aspirin. I had multiple lossses and had a blood work up done and did show difficulties with blood clotting. I also took Progesterone. I think it was the combination of the two that helped me with DS.

I also ate pineapple core for 5 days and got pregnant two times I did that (once was MC, once was DS).

For DD, I took B100 Complex for a few months which helped lengthen my cycle.

I definitely bicycled my legs after DTD and kept my legs propped up for 20 mins every time we were TTC.

There were a few other meds for my IVF cycle.

@Bibliolove: I just googled vitamin c and uterine lining and saw a bunch of stuff about it inducing period by drastically dropping progesterone. I really wish there were more clear answers about this stuff... one website says it helps, another says it hurts.

This is crazy but I've done it post BD and I know we conceived on those dates. This yoga pose. Held for as long as I could. It has resulted in 2 pregnancies (I'm currently pregnant with #2)
Just doing legs up the wall resulted in nothing. I had miscarriages as well but didn't get into fertility treatments.

It's called shoulder stand pose. And I am 100% sure I conceived after doing this (vs times we BD and didn't conceive and I forgot to do it).

I have taken the following:

Prenatals
Pom juice (just did for kicks, one cycle)
500 mg extra vitamin C to help with lining
Mucinex leading up to O
Omega 3s more for mood
Vitamin D

I feel like I did more but can't remember now! I also had DH take a multi as well and switch to boxers (he was good, not great with numbers).

@LaughLines: You might check with your insurance to see what's covered testing-wise.

My old OB said they usually wait for 3 losses, but I said I didn't want to put myself through that if I didn't have to (our second loss was a stillbirth) and I was willing to pay out of pocket for the tests if necessary.

I have pretty crappy coverage, but they ended up being covered fully.

If you want the testing, don't be afraid to advocate for yourself.

@MaryM: ok I'll ask my doc about that on monday and probably start that soon. We're doing chromosome testing for me and dh, but she said they dont do clotting tests until the 3rd loss, so i might not be getting the MTHFR test yet. I'll try to push for it though.

I do have a daughter that was easily conceived on my first cycle of clomid. There were some complications of IUGR that cleared up during the pregnancy, but having that successful pregnancy makes me think i dont have that mutation but maybe i just got lucky with DD

@LaughLines: I started taking it daily once I knew I had the MTHFR mutation. The mutation can raise your risk for clotting issues. I tested negative for all the other clotting disorders in the repeat loss blood panel, but I figure it couldn't hurt.

It actually made my periods a lot easier to handle. They weren't as clotty, and I guess the clots were what was making my periods so painful.

So I've been on it daily for at least a year and a half.

I've never heard of it thinning lining. In fact, when I googled it, it seems some studies show it can do the opposite.

@MaryM: do you do the baby asprin every day? I was planning on adding that after my next bfp (if i get another) to help in case clotting is causing the miscarriages. My doc said there was no harm in that but isnt proven to help. I saw some people take it while ttc but I'm worried about it thinning my lining so i wasnt sure about taking it the whole time

@periwinklebee: i forgot to mention i was doing acupuncture and cupping as well, but i had a negative experience at my last visit so i quit going

I go to yoga twice a week and my instructor emphasizes meditation which i think helps a lot

I'm so sorry for your losses  Here are a few things that come to mind:

Probiotics (I prefer to get mine from food sources like kefir or kombucha, but you can also take supplements). I heard it can create a better environment for implantation - no idea if it's true but I also find it helps with digestion, so worth it regardless.

Natural sources of b vitamins through food - may be better absorbed than the synthetic pill form

Acupuncture - While I was doing it I had bfns and two losses, so it's not a magic bullet and I don't know if it actually helped with TTC, but my cycle did go right back to normal after my losses and it definitely helped me to cope emotionally with losses. I went to a group place, which was only $15/session if you bought a bulk package.

You might consider looking into more natural forms of B vitamins.

Something like 1/3 of people have genetic mutations that make it impossible to process synthetic B vitamins (including folic acid). You can either try to convince a doctor to test you for a MTHFR mutation to see if you have that problem, or just make the switch to folate and other forms of Bs and try to avoid folic acid enriched foods.

In addition to that, I've given up gluten (found out I had celiac and it runs in my family).

Prescription wise:
1500 mg Metformin
Femara pre-peak
HCG shots every other day from 3-9 days post peak
4 mg Estrogen from O+3-12
NatureThroid (for subclinical hypothyroid. I was told for years my thyroid labs were normal...but they weren't optimal for TTC/pregnancy.)
Low Dose Naltrexone/LDN (it helps lower autoimmune responses and anxiety/stress)

OTC:
SmartyPants prenatals (they contain folate)
Baby Aspirin
Mucinex from cycle day 9 to O+2
100 mg of P-5-P (the methylated version of B6, a mucous enhancer)

I've been doing most of this for more than a year. The most recent changes before this last pregnancy were the addition of the LDN and a dosage change on my thyroid medication.

ETA: And lifestyle wise, I drink about 4-5 22oz bottles of water a day.

I chart with a mucous only method (hence the mucinex and B6!)

I try not to stress DH out too much with timed intercourse, so if I think i'm nearing/at O, I just try to make sure we hit every 2-3 days, but don't force it.

What have you tried to help conceive? Here are all the things I did when i got pregnant last time. I had a miscarriage (2nd one) so I'll be trying again soon and wanted to make a list and see if anyone had any other suggestions. I have pcos so some of these may be specific to that.

B-complex
Iron
CoQ10
Mucinex from cd12 on (i ovulate later than normal, so others might do this sooner)
Drink Pom juice mixed with ground flax seed every day first half of cycle to increase estrogen
Eat slice of pineapple (including core) for 5 days after ovulation
Drink over a gallon of water a day
BD EOD from cd 10 past ovulation
Opks
Low carb (low gi) diet

I also am on metformin, take femera, and do IUIs, but that's not wives tale stuff
