@Andrea: Awesome that you love it!

@woodentulip: Very interesting path. I think having gone back to work will make me appreciate staying home more (I thinK?) But I know it will be difficult in its own set of ways.

I was going to post the same topic!

I am so surprised that I LOVE SAH!! I honestly never thought I could be a SAHM and now I have no plans to return to work. I really get it now. It's such a blessing that we can afford for me to SAH.

I do feel guilty, though. #2 will have me at home and #1 went to daycare. Oh well, I can't do anything about the past, but I do think about this a lot. However, it was a completely different set of circumstances 3 years ago so I have to keep that in mind, too!

I was on mat leave for the first year of my older daughter's life, then went back to work for 1.5 years, and then was on mat leave again with my second daughter and now I am a SAHM.

Am I thankful for this chance? Yes. Is it harder for me than going to work? Heck.yes.heck.yes. I LOVE that I get to spent time with my kids, participate in their daily lives and so on, but I honestly get lost in the daily grind so much that I sometimes wish that I was working again so that I would value all our time together!

But, with two kids, I think that it would be a whole other kettle of fish to get ready and go to work. To prep for activities (now that my kids are getting bigger), to make memories, to do all the little things that we get to do now!

So yes, I am happy with my decision! Sometimes I think that living this way forever would be lovely! But then other days, I find myself looking over the job postings in my field!

I was a WOHM for three years and then became a SAHM after 2.0 came along. Do I miss work? Nope! There is plenty to do everyday to keep me busy and "working" "at home". Focusing my time and energy 100% to my family has been very rewarding, and challenging too.

I think it gets more interesting the older the kids get. Babies need a lot of attention, yes, but it's my eldest who keeps me on my toes, really. When I was at home on a 7 month maternity leave for the first time, I was itching to go back to work. But now that there are playdates to keep up with, extracurricular activities to take her to (ballet, swimming, etc...), and school prep to do (kids in her future kinder class are reading already), it's much more challenging.

@PrincessBaby: This is exactly what I'm hoping. And that my heart palpitations over the stress of my job will subside!

I'm on Day 1 of SAHM life and let me tell you- it is so nice to have zero stress! And nothing hanging over my head or that I havevto do later. I turned in my lsptop and all of my company stuff yesterday and I just cant even explain how nice it was to not have lead in my stomach with worry or concern anymore. Just me and sweet little H from here on out. I'm really hoping that having went back to work and having had such a stressful job- that I'll truly appreciate this time. Because it could be a lot worse than her getting up for the day at 4 am or having a blowout in the Jumperoo!

I will SAH again once this contract/project that I am on wraps up some time next year, so I don't know if that includes me in this or not...I guess for me, I am happiest when I have a lot going on and I feel I am contributing to the financial health of the family.

I did stay home for 2 years before, and it wasn't for me for a lot of reasons, so why am I doing it again? Next year LO will be in preschool and I plan to help out more in the classroom and do some projects around our house, two things that weren't in the game the first time around.
