Crazy morning here too! I echo what so many other ladies have said about the stars needing to align and DH leaving the house before being able to do anything helpful for anyone. Usually I am barking orders and pratically yelling at the 2 kids by the time we leave the house. And I don't know about anyone else, but somehow my DS seems to ALWAYS dirty his diaper right before I need to leave the house (and especially if I was already running late). It's murphy's law, I swear.

@mrs. wagon: That's nice!
@mrskc: that's a great thing about a nanny, you don't have to get all the daycare stuff ready. I'm jealous. I would like a nanny but DH is strongly against it.
@Bluebonnet: hahahaha that's what i must be missing.. the stars aren't aligning for me.. I knew it couldn't be me ;)

This is my first week back, but it's been going good. We do have a nanny that comes to the house though, so that makes it so much easier. The only annoying thing is pumping.

Mornings are manageable if the stars align and:
- LO's clothes are laid out the night before
- My work bags (purse, pump, laptop) are all packed up and ready to go
- My clothes are laid out the night before
- LO's bottles and meals/snacks are made
- LO doesn't wake up until I'm showered and mostly ready

If anything doesn't go according to plan, its chaotic.

It took forever, but we finally have a routine down. The problem is getting out the door before 8... that almost never happens anymore, but thankfully our work is pretty lenient on schedules.

I get all of her food and bottles packed the night before. I'm usually up at 6 and ready by 6:45, which is the same time DH gets up. I'll go get DD, get her dressed and bring her to the kitchen to feed her. We try to get out the door by 7:30, but it's usually closer to 7:45. Time seems to get away from us while we're getting her dressed or feeding her.

We're like drill sergeants in the morning. We have a routine and both of us are extremely good at it!!! Right now we're lucky because our nanny comes to our house at 7am and she can take LMW pretty much immediately, and LMW can usually hang out in her crib if she wakes up before then. So that just leaves getting Wagon Jr. up, dressed, fed, and out the door for daycare. I'm just basically in charge of getting Wagon Sr. and I both awake and started... then I pump and get ready and that takes almost an hour. Wagon Sr. gets ready and gets Wagon Jr. fed and ready, then we all leave together.

@regrberdaisy LO did the same thing this morning. She was wide wake at 6:30 I was trying to get her to go back to sleep but she wouldnt have it so I put her in her RnP and had her watch some of the news while I showered really quickly and then pulled the RnP to the bathroom while I got ready. I have no idea how I got out the door on time.

I think the part that kills us is she never wakes up at the same time. Sometimes it's 5am, sometimes 5:30 sometimes 6 sometimes 7. If she'll wake up at 5:30am to nurse then go back to sleep till 7 like she did on Monday & Tuesday it will be PERFECT.

DH is in charge of walking our dog in the morning. I refresh her diaper bag at night and have it right by the door. I pump when I wake up, shower, dressed, cook our dog's food, feed the cat, get LO's clothing ready for the morning, pack her milk and place it in the fridge, then I wake her change her diaper, feed her put on her clothes on, grab the milk and diaper bag and off we go.

DH leaves the house at 7 in the morning do he can't do much to help in the morning.

Mornings are usually frantic. I try to prepare her bottles, get her clothes out, and prepare my breakfast & lunch for work the night before...but many times I end up falling asleep when I put her down. And DH doesn't think, "Oh, maybe I should prep the bottles or get her clothes out," so when that happens I'm screwed in the morning.

I then have to get her into the stroller (on really cold days she's in the snowsuit which she hates) and then take a friggin' 15 minute uphill walk to the nanny share house. Whew.

Although this morning we are both still in our PJs and I am working from home because the little lady has a fever.

@littlek: It took some time to implement and a stern warning from my boss about being late to get it together. This morning LO woke up at 6am with a wet sleeper and sleepsack. It didn't matter schedule wise because it's my work from home day, so we got him to daycare early. I also changed him into his day clothes if he fell back asleep. Not the first time I've done that. Some days it works better than others, but overall, it makes mornings manageable.

Mornings were tougher before we divided up the routine. I get the baby's clothes and milk out. I usually end up feeding the baby before he leaves for daycare. My husband dresses the baby and gets him to daycare. I have to be in the office by 8-8:30am, so this works for us.
