5:00- DD wakes up, not caring that my alarm won't go off for 30 more minutes. I nurse her while DH gets up to let dogs out.
5:15- I shower while DH plays/reads to with DD. Then we switch.
5:45- We both dress while DD crawls around/gets into everything.
6:15- DD eats breakfast in highchair as we finish packing bottles/lunch for all of us. We also feed dogs, make sure all daycare stuff is packed, my gym bag is packed.
7:15- leave for daycare. It doesn't open until 7:30 and I head straight to work after.

We wash all bottles/pump parts the night before, and pack as much of DD's lunch as possible the night before. We have ample time in the mornings, but I'm hoping DD will start sleeping later (wishful thinking, I'm afraid) so that we can all sleep in a little. I work out at lunch (and am just sweaty in the afternoons) and do a Pure Barre class a few nights a week after DD is asleep.

i workout at night after DS goes down at 7/730. i also shower at nighttime.

I prep all daycare needs at home the night before. Wash bottles/dishes from daycare after baby's bedtime. Prepare bottles or lunch and sippy cups.

In the morning, here is our schedule:
5:15am: hubs wakes up to work out
5:30am I wake up and get in shower and get ready
5:50am I go downstairs, make eggs for baby and hubs
6am Hubs is in shower, I wake up baby, nurse, get her dressed and take her downstairs.
6:20am Hubs is out the door, baby is in high chair eating breakfast. I am eating cereal.
6:30am Mad scramble starts to get out the door by 6:38 - I get her food and sippy and (if needed) hat, diapers, extra clothes into her bag, get my lunch into my bag. Grab my coffee, grab her, wipe her face and hands, change her diaper if needed, grab keys and purse and scramble out the door.

I haven't yet perfected that last 8 minutes of our morning. :)

7:00 am wake up, potty and shower
7:20 am dress and toothbrushing
Misc stuff like refilling backpack though I try to do this at night
7:45 am out the door (in theory often closer to 8:00)
8:00 am at preschool for breakfast
8:30 am at work

I don't do makeup or hair. If I don't have to work at 8:30 am I don't shower and that saves us some time.

Today was a little rough because he decided he didn't want to go to school so at 7:45 he stripped for me and we had to redress him and get him in the car.

Our schedule is a bit different. DH and I stagger our work schedules so that LO isn't at daycare more than 6-7 hours a day.

5:15 - DH wakes up, eats, out the door by 6
8:00 - I get up with LO, give her a bottle while I pump, play with her
8:45 - Both of us dressed, lunch packed for me, pump parts packed
9:15 - Out the door,
9:30 - Drop her at daycare
10:15 - Work
Lunch break - Pump
3:00 - DH off work
4:30 - Pick LO up from daycare - this normally give DH an hour to himself
6:30/7:00 - Me off work
7:45/8:00 - Give LO solids, start bath, final bottle, etc (I feed LO and climb in the tub with her, DH does diaper/bottle/bed)
9:00/9:15- LO is asleep
10:00 - DH to bed, I pump
11:00 - Me to bed

Hope this helps. In order to combat how little we're home together, DH and I have a weekday off together. He works M, W-Sat, and I work M, W-F.

@blackbird, @highwire: the outfit thing is so simple but makes SUCH a difference. I learned it from another blog, about spending 30 minutes a week taking care of your clothing. I can not tell you how many times I have had to change my undergarments or realized the shoes needed to be resoled, etc. And that always happens on a morning when my son wakes up earlier than usual!

I also changed up my hair, I got an American Wave at the salon to help me better deal with the frizziness. It's a curl treatement that enhances my natural wave to a true curl, so I can better style it. It was either this or flat iron and I will take scrunching in some curl creme and air drying over that any day!

@looch, I saw you post that advice somewhere else and I did the same thing last night! I set out 5 outfits for E and 5 for myself Sunday night. I'll be damned if I didn't spend 10 minutes waffling over which outfit to dress ourselves in this week, lol

Mine really depends on when R wakes up. This was this morning

530: I wake up, shower and wash hair, get ready.
6:25: Throw everything in the car. I make lunch and bottles the right before. I
6:30: Wake up R, change diaper, get dressed, nurse.
6:55:Throw my shirt on and we are out the door
7:20: Drop her off:
7:40: Get to work

I was late this morning. I also eat breakfast at work every morning. Tomorrow I can sleep a little later since I don't have to wash and blow dry my hair.

As for finding time to work out, still trying to find it

My morning routine is basic, it's the prework that is what makes the difference for me.

I prep my outfits for the week in advance, and set them up in a separate closet, down to the underwear, shoes, accessories. I can pick and choose during the week, but I don't have to worry that I picked a skirt and don't have hose (or whatever).

I also do this for my son, 5 outfits in a group for the week. I pack his day care bag at night. I also write out the day care checks a month in advance and just put the current one in his pack on monday morning.

I don't do laundry during the week, it just creates more ironing for me, and I do the dry cleaning drop off on Saturdays.

I also prep meals on Sunday for the week. Our weeks are the same, so we know we eat at my parents home on Tuesday, for example. I do slow cooker meals from the freezer 2 nights a week, the other 2 nights are leftovers.

Hope that helps!

6:45: Wake up, wake up LO, nurse LO
7:15-8: Shower, get ready, get bags ready, let dog out, etc.
8: Leave for daycare/work (DH and I drive together)
(Eat breakfast either on the way to work or at work)

I'm just not a good fit for morning workouts. And waking up an extra 30 minutes early to pump is really not interesting to me...and I don't want to exercise with full breasts.

So, until I'm done breastfeeding, I've decided not to stress out about working out. Managing a breastfeeding infant, a house, a husband, and a full time job is enough for me right now. Once we are done nursing I will reconsider adding in a more regimented workout schedule. These days my exercise includes family walks, occasional yoga classes and 5ks, and rough housing with my kid :)

@Adira: i like the "finally" when you mentioned DH waking up...

our morning routine (LO is 5.5 months old):
5:00am: i wake up, brush teeth, wash face, etc. (i take showers at night), feed dogs, get breakfast out, pack pump parts (which DH ideally has washed the night before)
5:15am: nurse LO. DH wakes up and walks dogs.
5:30am: we eat breakfast (LO sits in high chair and plays with non-messy finger food, liked steamed broccoli and carrots)
5:45am: i put on makeup, get dressed, DH takes shower
6:05am: i leave for work
6:30 or 6:45am: DH leaves for daycare drop-off and work

i don't work out these days, although i could in the evenings after LO goes to bed. i just don't!

Today was my first day back at work with daycare! I pack lunch (and breakfast), my gym bag, and her bottles and stuff the night before so i can just grab and go in the morning. I'm not pumping or nursing, but I had a Freestyle so i was planning on sticking it in my bathrobe and pumping while i drank coffee/did my makeup, etc

5:15am: Up. Do makeup/hair/drink coffee/do dishes/etc.
5:30am: DH leaves for work
6:15am: Wake baby up. Feed, change, dress
6:55am: Out the door
7:00am: Drop off
7:30-3:30pm: Work
4:00-5:00pm: Gym
5:30pm: Home

This morning she got craaazy and woke up at 5am, so she played with her mobile in her crib from 5-615 while i cleaned the house, got ready, watched tv, etc. But usually she sleeps til about 6:30am. I go to bed at 9, so getting up between 5/530 isn't a big deal. My husband does daycare pick up at 3pm

I will be heading back to work in a few weeks. I am trying to think about our morning routine. Do you mind sharing your morning schedule? Do you and your SO share some responsibilities for getting LO ready? Any tips on how to make things run as smoothly as possible?

I also want to start working out again a few days a week and I am having the hardest time figuring out how I can even make that work - morning or night unless I get up at 5 am. I want to miss as little time as I can with LO so I guess I could work out at night after he goes to bed and after we have dinner...

I'm getting stressed out just thinking about going back to work already and managing to fit everything in... I'm sure it will all fall into place but I'm getting nervous
