Thanks for sharing your routines with me ladies! I survived my first week at work, but haven't quite nailed down my routine yet. I was running on pure adrenaline at the beginning of the week but then slept in the last three days, whoops!! Including one day that I can completely forgot to set my alarm. Oy! It's a transition for sure!

I just wanted to add that even though it sucks that we're all running ragged and probably severely sleep deprived, in a way, I'm grateful for this thread because it makes me feel not so alone in the craziness! Thankful for the commiseration.

I love reading everyone's detailed schedules too - makes me think about how I can better streamline my own!

My girl doesn't have a set wake-up time so I will try to reflect what we do in different scenarios. She is 7.5 months old but we have had this same routine since I went back to work.

Night before:
Pack daycare/diaper bag. We use cloth so I replenish the inserts, covers, wipes that were used the day before and make sure that the wet bag is in there.
Wash pump parts for me.
Mentally pick out an outfit for myself.

Morning:
(Typical)
I wake to my alarm at 6:05.
Go to kitchen, make coffee, let the dog out.
Wash my face (no AM shower) and then make lunches for myself and DH.
Pack my pump parts and cooler bag.
Pack LO's lunchbox (I send bags of pumped milk from the day before. We use Playtex drop-ins and our daycare nanny keeps bottles and liners there and prepares them for us).
Drink coffee and eat a little breakfast (usually pre-prepared, a muffin or mini quiche, or a piece of toast) while putting on my makeup. Then do my hair.
LO and DH wake around 6:45.
If I fed her after 5AM I don't feed again in the morning, if it was earlier than that I nurse her for a few minutes but she is usually distracted and awake so it's only about 10 minutes total time.
Diaper change, get her into her clothes for the day. She hangs out in her crib and plays while I go get dressed.
DH showers immediatly on waking and then dresses and puts LO in her carseat. He then helps me put her in the car and we leave for daycare at 7:20.
7:45+ arrive at daycare, hang out and chat for a few minutes while playing with LO. Give daycare nanny any instructions and let her know about how she slept, when she woke and ate, and if I sent anything new along.
8:00 drive to work
8:20 arrive at work start the day. I am a supervisor and we have flexible schedules at my work so as long as I arrive before 9 and work 40 hrs that week I am good. This is the primary reason I do drop off, as DH has a strict time he needs to be at his office.

Some days it looks like this:
5:15-5:30 LO wakes. I nurse her (most likely haven't since 2AM) and if it seems like she will go down easy I put her back in her crib. If not I put her in our bed with DH to snooze with him for another hour until he wakes up.
Then I go about the morning as described above. Sometimes with this scenario I have to wake up LO to do the morning stuff but I try to let her sleep as long as possible and do everyting I need to for myself before I get her up. The latest I will wake her is 7:05 (to leave by 7:20).

Other days look like this:
LO wakes up during my early routine (coffee making, lunch prep, etc.).
I go get her and either nurse for a few minutes or not depending on her last feeding time.
I do her morning stuff (diaper, clothes, etc) and then take her to the kitchen and put her in the doorway jumper. When she was younger and woke up early like this I strapped her in a carrier.
Then I finish up my routine as usual. I am a little late with things but I already did LO's tasks so it all works out that I finish up at the time I usually would.

Um, I am terrible and have no real routine.

I wake up between 6 and 7 every morning, depending on L, and am out the door by 830 at the absolute latest. I do daycare drop off too. I should be at work by 9 every day. They don't sweat it if you're a few minutes late though.

My twins are almost 6 months old.

5:30/5:45 - We wake up I EP, so one of us warms the bottles and grabs my pump parts and brings them to the bedroom. I get hooked up to my pump and DH brings the boys to our bed and we feed them.

6/6:15 - Once the boys finish eating, DH takes them back to the nursery to change them and get them dressed for the day. I finish pumping and jump in the shower. DH also finishes making any bottles that need made for daycare, putting ice packs in my pump bag and setting the bags by the door for when I leave.

6:30/6:45 - DH gets dressed after finishing with the babies. DH leaves for work. We leave them in their crib to hang out and play with each other. I finish getting ready for the day. I hurry to make breakfast to eat in the car, make a quick lunch and grab anything else I need for the day.

7 - I load the babies into their car seats that are in our stroller frame, grab all the bags that come with us, and push them out the door.

7:15 - Arrive at daycare, unload them, chat with their teacher briefly about anything specific for that day.

7:30-8 - Commute to work. By 8, I am at my desk and working.

We pack everything that can be packed the night before. So clean pump parts and empty bottles for my pump bag, all the bottles that need to be made for daycare, any supplies that I need to bring to daycare the next day, like diapers, wipes, bibs, extra outfits, etc.

@cmomma17: My son is 8 months. Our routine was a little different when he was younger. We had a nanny come to the house so that made things so much easier. My DH used to prep lunches and get my breakfast ready for me and set up my pump while I got ready. The last thing I would do before I left for work was pump and eat breakfast at the same time. We're going to be starting daycare in August so it will be interesting figuring out our new schedule with having to pack a daycare bag and get the baby ready in the morning. I imagine we'll pack his bag the night before. I'll let him sleep as long as possible, then get him up, nurse him and change his clothes for daycare. It helps that my DH and I are on similar schedules. We will be able to tag team the morning.

One thing I considered to do the night before which I haven't yet is measuring out my oatmeal in a bowl so all I would have to do is add milk and put it in the microwave. But then I just left the measuring cup in the container of oatmeal so it's really fast to just dump a 1/2 c in a bowl. I also considered taking my breakfast to work with me. I could just take a bowl and my oatmeal and make it at work every morning. But I like having breakfast in me before my 40 min commute. Oh and another thing that saves me time in the morning is laying out my clothes for the next day.

6:10am grab cell phone, her shoes and anything else I have upstairs, go downstairs with the baby
6:10-6:25 prep lunch for me, get eggs and toast into tupperware for hubs, get breakfast for me on the table. Get breakfast onto baby's tray.
6:25-6:35 eat breakfast with baby
6:35-6:40 final clean-up, out the door.

Ours is pretty easy since she'll be 2 in September.
6:15 I wake up, shower, get dressed
6:30 Wake her up, get her dressed, give her milk that I put in a cup last night, comb her hair
6:55 Leave for work, I have to be there at 7:30, it's a 20min drive. I teach Pre-K at her daycare, so no dropping her off.

The night before: She gets a bath, I make my lunch and breakfast, pack her afterschool snack for the car.

Our clothes get ironed and set out for the week on Sunday on the guest bedroom bed, lol!

Also, how long does it take to get from your daycare to your work? Daycare drop off might take longer than you expect if the daycare people talk to you in the morning or if you have to get your LO settled before you leave. I don't handle drop-off, so I don't really know how long it takes.

I'm in shower at 6:30 while DH plays with LO, then he showers and she comes and watches me get ready. I put her in highchair around 7:10 with breakfast, while she eats I pack my lunch and check her diaper bag for daycare. I change her clothes for the day & we are out the door at 7:30.

@blackbird: 5:30-6:00 doesn't seem like a lot of time to pump and do makeup and get ready. Are you pumping WHILE you're doing some of that stuff? Or do you not pump for very long? I try to pump for 20 minutes, but my boobs are slow to empty, so I know some people don't have to pump as long.

And do you shower in the morning? If so, you're missing that from your schedule. :P And will you need to wash and dry any pump parts/bottles to take with you to work? That always takes me longer than I think it should.

@adira, I think we'll have about the same schedule! I go back to work in one week and I don't know how it'll happen. But I'm *thinking*:

515: up
530-6 coffee, pump, makeup, get ready
615-645: feed baby (bottle)+changed
655: out the door
700: daycare drop off
730: work (eat breakfast there)

All I have to pack for daycare is a spare outfit for her and bottles.

Am I missing something? It *looks* like a lot of time but I know it's not! Sometimes she wakes up at 530, in which case I'll feed her and plop her in her crib to play

DH leaves for work at 540 so I'll be doing mornings solo

Eta I'm also undecided on pumping at work. I'm leaning towards just pumping in the morning and before bed

The night before I prep her day care bottles and purée and wash all my pump parts and bottles so they are ready to go. I also make sure hubs' bag is packed with anything that needs to go to daycare (diapers, extra clothes, etc).

Usually baby wakes me up sometime between 5:45 and 6:30. I go get her and pull her into bed with me to nurse her. I try to be out of the bed by 6:30 but if she wakes up a little late that doesn't always happen. After she eats she'll sometimes fall back to sleep and if so I just leave her laying there. If she's up I set her up in our bed with a bunch of toys (hubs is still in the bed too). Then I usually hop in the shower, get out and do my hair, and get dressed. I'm super fast at getting ready because I don't wear make up, I have curly hair so I just scrunch it with mousse, and I select my outfit the night before. So I'm usually ready to go in twenty minutes. I then change the baby's diper and get her dressed for school then plop her back on our bed with toys (hubs is usually starting to move around at this point). I kiss them goodbye, go downstairs and feed the dog and let him out. Pack up my pump parts, and I'm on my way to work at 7:10.

Hubs will bring baby into the bathroom in a bouncy seat while he showers and gets ready. Then they go downstairs and pack up the bottles and purée, baby goes in the car seat, and they usually leave the house at 7:45 and she gets dropped at school at 8. Then I pick her up at 4:30.

Oh, @butterbean made a good point about the bottles. We have NINE (9) bottles. We send 4 of them to daycare, and I use 4 of them during the day. In the morning when I pump, I double-pump and then combine into one bottle. Then I take two bottles with me to work to pump into. At the end of the day, I just move milk around in those three bottles to make up bottles for Xander to take to daycare (he usually drinks three of his four bottles, so I just send his left-over bottle + the three new ones). Then I wash the bottles he used at daycare for me to use the next day. Having extra bottles is crucial for us.

@cmomma17: Yeah, just figure out how much time you need for everything, so you can figure out when (if necessary) you have to wake up C to eat. For me, I figure 30 minutes to feed Xander, and around 30 minutes for pumping and pump-related stuff. Sometimes if I'm running late though, I can only pump for 15 minutes or something. I always pump last in case I'm running behind and just pump for less time.

just like @Adira: i do a lot of prep the night before

NIGHT BEFORE
*wash parts and bottles (we got a second set of bottles so i can transfer the milk i pumped into those bottles)
*prep bottles
* prep lunches for DH and I (we made/prepped a lot of meals on Sunday to last us for the week - i was just too tired to cook when i got home from work)

MORNING
*I get up around 5:30am and out the door by 6ish to get to work
*DH gets up around the same time to get ready for work and prep morning bottle before he gets DS ready for daycare (the last couple of days, DH has had to wake DS up)

I got a second set of pump parts as well so i could pump in the middle of the night and not have to worry about washing them for when I go to work (I'd rather spend every second I can, sleeping...lol)

@Adira: I can't afford to be late to work either! I think that's why I'm so anxious to get a routine in place before work gets busy again. I actually aim to be at my desk 15 minutes early each day, even though my boss almost always rolls in late.
I have always made time for breakfast because its high on my priority list, but I could easily eat at my desk in the future if needed. And we put a mini fridge at my desk too so I have room for a few snacks.
C wasn't upset to be woken up this morning either :) he's always happy to eat!

@cmomma17: When I first started my routine, Xander was waking up on his own between 4:30 and 5:00, so I didn't actually have to wake him up. But lately, he's been sleeping in, so I do. I know people say never to wake a sleeping baby, but I HAVE to be at work on-time because I do daycare pick-up and I HAVE to leave work at 4:30, so I can't afford to be late. So that means I wake up Xander and feed him on MY schedule! This morning, he wasn't even upset to be woken up! He was all "Hi Mom!" (he's not really talking yet, so that was just the impression I got) and all smiles! Definitely makes me feel less guilty. :P

Also, I have zero time to eat from home. I always eat breakfast at work. If I'm trying to save money, I'll bring my own breakfast, but lately I've been buying Oatmeal from Dunkin's to help my supply.

@Adira: everyone's routines are making me tired! I'll have to ponder what time I would wake C up if he's not awake yet. Today was the first time he really "slept in"

@cmomma17: I always have to wake up Xander. It's the only way I'll get to work on time. Here's my routine:

Night Before
- Prepare bottles for daycare
- Set out pump/pump parts for pumping
- Get lunch ready for next day

Morning
5:00 - Wake up!
5:05 - Wake up Xander, change his diaper, start nursing him (I'm engorged in the morning, so if he's been nursing on one side for 20 minutes, I delatch him and put him on the other side. He'll usually nurse side #2 for only 5 minutes)
5:40 - Put Xander back in crib (he's usually back asleep)
5:45 - Shower! Hair! Makeup!! Rush rush rush!
6:15 - Pump!
6:40 - Wash pump parts, pack pumping back, pack lunch, finish getting dressed
6:50/7:00 - Out the door! (This is also around the time that Hubs gets up Xander to take to daycare - if I had to do this part, I'd probably have to get up 30 minutes earlier...)
7:20 - Stop at Dunkins for coffee and breakfast
7:30 - At work!

ETA: DH woke up at 6:50 so I had him wake up our poor sleepy babe and bring him to me to nurse. Hopefully I still have time to pump too, and I still need to get dressed and dry my hair.
