@Mrs. Turtle: try Nordstrom Rack. Then get it tailored at Nordstrom. My husband has gotten a great suit at a fraction of the price this way. And Nordstrom tailoring is the best

@Ms.Mermaid: @Raspberry: @SweetiePie: @Madison43: @mediagirl: Thanks guys. For some reason I didn't think of the outlets. I think because I'm 6' tall, and the outlets rarely have tall sizes. She, however, is not. Looks like BR outlet might have some good options.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I think more the Ellen Degeneres look :)

@gingerbebe: Oh this looks really cool. I'll definitely keep an eye on their sales page!

@Foodnerd81: Oh good idea, I'll check out the website.

@Mrs. Turtle: is she going for the Kourtney Kardashian look? I’d try White House Black Market and Antonio Msomething at DILLARDS if you have one.

@Raspberry: Agree with this! And a nice suit is pretty timeless so can be worn for years and years.
Another option is J Crew Factory, they might have something.
Or Nordstrom rack could have some great designer pieces for a lot less.

I have a theory suit that is so classic, I’ve had it for a good 10 years and it’s still stylish and in great shape.

Honestly, I would spend the money on the BR or J. Crew set. Tailoring really matters in suits and I just think the cheap ones don’t drape as nicely and fabric has too much sheen. The blazer can be worn with jeans and the pants can be mixed with lots of tops, so you get a lot more wear out of a suit than you’d think.

H&M has some suit options- I haven’t tried them on in ages but I remember doing so when I needed a suit for work. They were a little too trendy for wearing to work like a needed but might do the trick for the wedding stuff. I just looked quickly and now I’m thinking about trying some of the blazers. http://m.hm.com/us/products/ladies/blazers

Try http://www.wildfang.com - it’s not cheap per se but you might find something discounted on sale that will be on par costwise with something at a chain retailer and it’s a fabulous feminist brand known for rad suits.

The Banana Republic and Ann Taylor outlets have great suits for reasonable prices - they hold up really well and are generally under $150. Much much cheaper than their retail store and better selection.

We are looking for a nice pants suit for my DW to wear to 2 weddings this summer. She is basically looking for a menswear look with women's tailoring, even a vest possibly. Ideally not too expensive because this won't be used often. Any ideas? I know JCrew and BR have a lot of nice suits but we'd rather not spend that much if possible.
