@loveisstrange: That's why I laughed out loud when I saw that you had asked the same question all that time ago! E seems to follow in C's footsteps! Oh well, if she grows into as cute a little lady as C in her 2 year pictures I wont mind a bit!! It's pretty rough though - she is flatly refusing to sleep and has been up for nights on end now (poorly cough and wonder week). It's currently 10.20pm and we've give up and brought her downstairs - she's squealing with delight at finally being released from her crib-prison.

@Cherrybee: oh good lord. The 9-11 month range was really, really rough. I'm not even going to lie to you. C and E seem to be fairly similar in personality, so I absolutely empathize, lady. There's a sleep regression in there too. It ends! It absolutely ends! Hang in there.

I'm so glad to see this old thread-I'm not familiar with wonder weeks and was freaking out that my usually sunny LO has been fussy, clingy, and having rough bedtimes. Glad to know it might end and is not a nonstop early intro to toddlerhood!

@loveisstrange: Remember this thread???! I just Googled "when does the 37 week Wonder Week end??" and this came up!!! This is E, right now! She really needs to cut it out - I'm appalled to read here that it lasted right into the next WW for C. Gah!!!

I honestly don't know what week it started, but we had extended fussiness around that time. So frustrating, but once it finally passed, things were SO much easier!

Yes, we have definitely been having a crankier than normal baby. (DD is 10 months now.) Just in the last couple of days she seems to be coming back to her normal self. --Eating easily, sleeping well, smiling, and "chatting" all the time. Today she was really sweet all evening, and even saying "dah" every time I showed her her rubber ducky in the bath. I think it was just a wonder week, so hopefully your baby will get over it soon too as well. They hit SO many milestones around now, so I think it's just hard for them to take it all in.

@runsyellowlites: This cant end soon enough. She has been flat out refusing to eat aything, so shes waking up for a night feeding again. It wouldnt be a huge deal except she stays awake being LOUD for sometimes over an hour and it keeps me awake. I have a husband about to leave for pre-deployment training, her butt needs to cut it out.

@zippylef: This 46 week WW has definitely been the worst!

She started needing to be rocked to sleep at her "normal" start of the grey weeks (actually 1/2 a week early at 41.5 weeks) and then just got progressively worse. PLUS she ended up sick and then had a reaction to wheat that we were trying to re-introduce wheat and from 43.5 to just a couple days ago to 44.2 weeks she basically didn't let me put her down and I ended up sleeping on the FLOOR with her b/c even in our bed she wouldn't settle.

Usually she gets a bit hard for her to fall asleep and then all goes fine until the actual stormy week, gets a tad clingy, and then back to normal. I am SO glad that this one finally seems to be passing!

@jennylynn: @NerdBee: This started for us at 8 months almost to the day.

I had chalked the whole thing up to her being totally thrown off by our trip home but we've been back a month and its not gotten better. I think there was one week a couple weeks ago where things were slightly better but... Yeah, its been a nightmare.

Omg I wonder if this is what is going on with M? She started being super fussy and clingy around 8 months, and it's still going strong at 10 months. Not to mention bed time has been rough. Hmmmm.....

Yes, yes, 1,000 times yes! Just before she started walking (about a week ago) we had this big period of nighttime fussiness. She kept waking herself up all night. Once she finally walked, it all quieted down like magic!

THIS. yes! I wouldn't say we had much fussiness before WW37, but LO has been a bit of a wreck since then. I keep looking at the WW calendar thinking "hmm...this must be the fussy period for her next one" but it's always a (supposedly) sunny week. She's 41 weeks now.

We've definitely got some separation anxiety going on, mixed in with some teething and trying to walk.

My LO is definitely going through this! He's 35 weeks and he is super clingy and fussy. He's trying really hard to crawl and also pull up. Little man has a lot going on! I haven't noticed any sleep regression though.

I never really noticed wonder weeks UNTIL wonder week 37. He's been really whiny the past 3 weeks or so, but it also coincided with mastering crawling and getting teeth. He's 38 weeks and I can't wait for it to be over. He was 10 days early, so his wonder week supposedly starts 10 days later....so I really hope we are done with this soon.

Omg, yes! LO's sleep had been sucking since around 8 months and when he doesn't get enough sleep, he's fussier and clingier than usual. It kind of got under control for almost a week and now it's back to sucking. It's been driving me craaaazy.

Thanks so much for posting this. I didn't realize that the fussiness started so much before the wonder week.

So, I feel like this may be a big part of what's been going on with C lately. She doesn't want to eat, her sleep sucks, she's much whinier and clingier than usual. If I count back, these behaviors started when she would have been gearing up for the 37 week one. Now, she's 44 weeks old and is going straight into the 46 week one without a break.

For reference:
"Wonder Week 37 - fussiness starts around 34 weeks/7.8 months, peaks at 36 weeks and skills appear around 37 weeks. It usually lasts 3-6 weeks

Wonder Week 46 - fussiness starts around 42 weeks/9.7 months, peaks at 44 weeks and skills appear around 46 weeks. It usually lasts 3-7 weeks"

She also got 2 more teeth, learned to crawl, learned to pull up, learned to cruise and it starting to try and stand on her own all in this time frame too.

Did anyone else experience an extended period of fussiness with this? Did these milestones all seem to blend together for you?
