Yep, it was spot on every single time. Even my DH who was skeptical about it started asking of it was a wonder week every time DS was fussy, lol.

I don't believe in them. They were sometimes accurate for us but the app makes it seem like there are so many WWs that I just say it's a wonder life! While it's a joke, I mean it... babies are obviously always learning and changing, and if it's not one thing it's another.

I do believe in growth spurts / developmental changes and sometimes WWs line up with those. There is a big growth spurt around 6 weeks and that does suck for pretty much everyone. Also, 6-9 weeks is rough because they are become more aware but as someone once told me, "they don't have any hobbies yet." When they are about 10 weeks and can be entertained on a tummy time mat or looking at a mobile, it gets better.

They were roughly accurate for us, give or take a week. But even if they don't correspond to your baby's schedule I found them to be a really helpful reminder than everything is a phase. So the bad times are going to pass, and I should enjoy the good periods while they are here because they won't stay either. I do recall six weeks being just about my low point as well. These days (11 weeks) when I have a tough day I try to remember what it felt like then to put it in perspective. Just do what you need to do to survive.

I'm undecided. Lo is 16 weeks tomorrow and her abilities seem hit or miss compared to ww predictions. Most of the skills she got gradually and before predicted. But a few (like rolling over!) she is supposedly weeks behind on.

Like you though I'm hoping the are real bc lo is supposedly in the middle of a big one right now and her sleep has been bad and she has been much fussier than usual the last week.

I needed them to be real because I found LO so difficult as a newborn. They still ring true for us at 18 months. The last time I was super frustrated with LO I pulled out the book and we were in the middle of a storm cloud. I took a pic of the page and texted it to DH and he said it described LO perfectly. Just getting a reminder that the behavior is a developmental phase and temporary helps me so much.

I never knew about wonder weeks with my first, and I had a really rough first year. I think it would have been nice for my sanity to know that it's all just a phase and will improve with some time. I like to refer to it now for LO2. It gives me the reminder that he is growing, and his schedule may change a bit to accommodate. I don't swear by it, but it gives me a little bit of hope that things will get better.

She definitely has wonder weeks, but they are often off by a week or so and I've found the earlier ones are worse than the later ones. And I've definitely seen the leaps in development. It's uncanny, for example they would say after this last leap she would be putting rings on the post and stacking blocks. I was skeptical, because it didn't seem like she was even close. Then after the wonder week ended - bam! She was doing those things. It's really cool.

They have been hit or miss with both of mine. They do hit those skills listed sooner or later, just not to the day or necessarily week.

My big beef with Wonder Weeks is that you are constantly staring at a chart looking for a thundercloud- I really am very turned off by that. I don't like associating anything with my kids negatively, and I worry that I would feed off of it or my behavior would be less enthusiastic if I were just looking at the next storm cloud coming up. I have the app and check it occasionally when I am having a difficult time, but I don't trust it or rely on it completely to the day or week.
