I've never timed them exactly, but my son went through a few in accordance to his birth date (he was born a week late). I don't have the book or app, but he's been particularly fussy & out of sorts, I'll count the weeks and there it is! A wonder week!

Now those "sunshine" times, I haven't noticed happening particularly like "Wow my baby is soooo happy!" But he's generally a happy dude anyway.

No, for us it was very random whether he hit them at all or not and when. I stopped checking because I started looking ahead and becoming obsessed with what may or may not come up.

I hate the storm clouds coming up ahead, I don't like thinking of my kid's development in a negative perspective. I only looked them up if there was a particular trying week or so, otherwise I pretty much ignored them.

I never really noticed them until around 11-12 months! Since then generally on time.

I didn't believe in them til we hit maybe the sixth leap. When the time ranges were more broad, the "symptoms" seemed to be more in line with wonder weeks. I definitely saw dd show signs early in the first few!

The other thing that could be happening is your lo is coming out of the sleepy newborn stage and becoming more aware of the world.. Or, digestive issues that are so common in the early days.

It definitely could be a wonder week though. The take away for the wonder weeks overall to me is "Babies have a lot of growth happening and they are fussy sometimes. This is what your baby could be working on..."

DD was born 15 days late and she does tend to hit her WWs a couple weeks early as per the app's predictions. My understanding of the rationale behind it is that development/Wonder Weeks are calculated from date of conception, not birthdate, hence the reliance on EDD.

My LO hits them about 3 - 4 days ahead of due date, she was 1 week late. I have found them scarily accurate, especially the new skills after the 15 - 19 week one.

My baby was born at 39 weeks and she hit the 5 week WW at about 5 weeks 4 days (from birth date). I don't know if she was 4 days late or 3 days early (!) but I don't buy that any baby hits these things bang on schedule. Her behaviour was spot on the description though and she emerged out the other side with the new skill they said she would learn which is pretty cool. She's having her 6 week growth spurt now!! The sunshine and unicorns is coming soon, right @Foodnerd81: ?!

I don't have the app but I am getting the book from the library- do you think the app is worth it?

I wasn't keeping track of winder weeks bf but C is a total cranky pants today. Though I blame today on the 6 week growth spurt (6 weeks on Monday) but she's been very fussy all week which lines up with the 5 week WW.

The ones that I noticed were right on target for my due date since LO was a month early. But they would happen within a week give or take of what the wonder week said.

My LO only hit one that I can vividly remember. I think it was like the 15-19 week one. He was right on target for that. But honestly, we haven't noticed *any* other than that one. So, for us, they were non-existent. The only one we had though was brutal and caused by *nothing* other than brain development (he wasn't sick, wasn't teething...)

a two day difference is pretty much on target. I'd say expect it.
For us it ended a few days early:) maybe like 5 days early. Trust me, I had a countdown going! Good thing is: they end abruptly. It's just over.

The wonder weeks app seems to go by EDD, as opposed to the actual date of birth. What has your experience been like - did your weeks happen according to due date or birth date? And how close to accurate we're they- right on the predicted days, or a few days early or late?

LO has been fussy the last few days, and her sleep last night was crap, but she's only 3 weeks old (the app says the first leap is in about two days). Just wondering what your experiences were!
