They are like chat threads where you update on what you're going through sometimes on a daily basis! Also, on the May thread, we have had a thread going since we all found out we were pregnant, so we know each other really well by know (as some of us are now full term- yikes!) Agree that the May one is particularly long because we are getting close to the end! Instead of starting a new thread to ask a question or change the topic, we usually just post it in the original May Babies thread and everyone replies.
