Commiseration here. We have to lay with her to sleep and it takes her over an hour to fall asleep.

@regberadaisy: That's the thing, she went to sleep on her own just fine, but she'd wake up at least five times a night!! She JUST started sleeping through the night a couple months ago (at three years old!!!) occasionally waking up for water or to go potty! I sure hope it's a phase!!

Yep, common phase it seems! I'm sure it's much harder to deal with when you have more than 1 kid, so I can't speak to that. Hope it gets better for you guys soon though!!

This is very common around that age. I think with DD 1 it lasted for a week or two. I know it's been longer for some and shorter than others.

On the bright side you had a great sleeper for 2 years prior! ;)

@travellingbee: Ugh. It's the worst. We're still up over here, seems every time the youngest closes her eyes, M shrieks. I don't see this ending well or anytime soon. I cherish my quiet time at night, this is making me stay up until 12-1!!!

I hope you get some sleep soon.

Ugh I have no advice but lots of commiserations. We are in a very similar boat with an equally stubborn boy :(

About Tuesday of this week M started demanding that I stay in her room until she falls asleep. This is after 2 years of her falling asleep on her own, albeit still waking up. This is so new, so irritating, and we're going backwards.
The big problem is that she is as stubborn as a mule, she'll literally cry until morning. Last night I gave in and had to sit in there for 2.5 hours. That resulted in an over tired baby because who the hell can go to sleep while the person you share a room with screams, hits the wall, cries, and pounds on the door.

I'm losing my temper with her.
