DS started doing that around 3 months, but it only lasted a week or two. At 8 months, he still does it occasionally but mostly just when I'm trying to get him in the car seat.

Jax started it at 10 weeks! I had to stop using the seat and swing because he could manage his way out of it. It was really frustrating

Sorry you're going through this! Lady M tends to do this when she doesn't want to sit in her bouncy seat, her whole body goes stiff and I know I just can't force her.

I think it's normal but I don't really have any suggestions, sorry! I just took out extra padding in her carseat and moved her into a stroller that reclined instead of the snap n go, and let her spend more time on the floor. I have no idea if these things worked because of whatever was making her arch or just because she had separate issues with her carseat etc. good luck! It'll end, at least by when she can sit!

@Mrs. Jacks: that is how I survive much of the day but it's not possible when I have to drive somewhere and she doesn't like being worn if I am just sitting (Ie trying to eat).

Try baby wearing. Our kids hated being set down, but loved baby wearing, which allowed me to still do work.

@shopaholic: She doesn't do it every time. This morning when we got to day care, I put her in a bouncy and she was fine. It just depends on her mood. Which is all over the place these days.

R has been doing it some too. Even if we prop her in the boppy, she arches till she is flat on the surface and not propped up. I am starting to buckle her into everything.

Sadie started doing that around the same time, although she's only ever done it when she's hungry. She gets pissed when she's hungry! I don't know what to do to make it stop for K, since feeding S works for me. Maybe she needs some sort of distraction...? A toy to play with or something to entertain her while she's sitting?

Ugh! We didn't have that problem with car seats or anything, A just does it when I hold her some way she doesn't want to be. Hopefully she doesn't keep it up for too long!

I don't know if this falls under milestones, but Little Miss K is exhausting me these days since she has learned how to use her little muscles to straighten her legs and arch her back! She just turned 3 months and I wasn't expecting this so soon, but she is already trying to "pop" out of her swing and car seat. Forget the bouncy chair, she'll slide right out. And she is fighting any time I have to buckle her into any kind of seat, with this afternoon's car seat entrapment causing her to almost slide out of the seat and making her pissed! I swear she uses her feet and legs to push off the seat already!

Please tell me this is normal, it won't last long, and how to get your baby to willingly stay in a seat? Mama is tired!
