We have A Ball for Daisy and Goodnight Gorilla. It's actually great for developing language. We make up a story or talk about what's happening. We also got one at the library about a paper hoatnin the rain. It was really cute...perfect for talking about emotions.

We have Good Dog Carl and DH always narrates each page, whereas I prefer to just let DD look at the pages and imagine the story herself. DH gets mad at me when I do that though. He thinks she should get to hear a story.

Someone gifted us Bluebird and I didn't look through it before letting my 3 year old open it. Then, I had to explain why a bunch of boys would kill a bird. Ugh

We've got goodnight gorilla where we add in words, we've read flora and the penguin, and then we have this flashlight book which has so many things you can narrate. Or if you want to "read" quickly you can just say the things the flashlight is on.

I love all Suzy Lee's books. They're so beautiful.

And my daughter's current favorites are Gerda Muller's season board books (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter).

But I know Alexandra Day's Good Dog Carl is pretty popular.

I've been dying for the Aaron Becker books but my daughter is still too rough with regular picture books. I love wordless books. They're so much more interactive than a traditional story.

My daughter loved Goodnight Gorilla. Now she's a little older and likes the Mamoko books. We're hoping to get her into The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, which DH and I both loved when we were little.

Not wordless, but my son used to love "goodnight gorilla" and there is a lot more to the story than just the text. I used to fill it in with narration and make guesses about what would happen next. Now that he's 3, he has started to do that too!

Does your LO have any wordless books that they enjoy?

We only have The Snowman and when LO asked to read it, and we told her there were no words, she was confused. DH made up a story to go along with the pictures, and she seemed content with that. I've been eyeing Aaron Becker books (Journey, Quest and Return) but I'm not sure if LO would want another book with no words ;)

How do you "read" wordless books to your LO? Do you just have them enjoy the illustrations? Make up a story?
