I still get to see my baby during the day and if I have a break in work where I would normally chat with co-workers or surf the internet, I can play with the baby and the nanny for a few minutes. Its also nice to spend the morning playing with him instead of getting dressed and ready for work and being able to shut down right at 5:00 and not deal with a commute.<br /> I have found that on the days I go to the office, it feels good to get out and on the days I stay home, I don't miss being stuck at home all day.<br /> But as I said, if the morning or afternoon nap is off for some reason, now you have a cranky baby on your hands until the nanny starts her day or daddy gets home. I was commuting for about 2-2.5 hours total between home/work/daycare. Other reasons are that I prefer daycare over having a nanny. And also for peace and quiet to do my job. My nanny works a shorter day on the days I work from home, not showing up until he wakes up from his morning nap and leaving after he falls asleep in the afternoon.
