@maybebaby: it just totally depends on your baby. I probably could have made it work with my daughter. But with my son? Impossible. He's 13 weeks and only naps in my arms no matter what I try (yes, im terrified for him to start day care in 3 weeks). He also wants to nurse every 90 minutes. No way I could effectively work while home with him. If your lo is uncooperative can you look in to a part time nanny?

@Mrs Spoon: yep, but just two days a week for three months. I figure if I capitalize on nap time, wake up before her and start my day early, and add in a few hrs after bed it could be feasible. I may be singing s different tune soon!

I worked from home with DS from day 1. We rotate entertainment, a few minutes on the playmat, a few minutes in the swing, a few minutes in the crib with toys, repeat as often as necessary, work as much as possible during nap time. We did have a nanny come in from time to time which helped, but was not absolutely necessary.

Are you planning to WFH without help? You will probably be restricted to only getting work done during naps. I WFH when was DD was 7 -12 mo this and we had a nanny. There is no way I would have been able to get anything done. She was obviously more mobile than at 14 weeks but even then I she could only do any given activity for 10-15 minutes tops (swing, tummy time) without needing me. Not enough to get work done.

For a few months I will be working at home two days a week WITH my baby at home while we wait for our daycare to have more days available. Any pro tips for keeping baby happy and stimulated while actually getting work done? She'll be 14 weeks and this will be two days/week for three months. Luckily toddler will be at school! Is this even possible?
