We've done long lunches in the past but didn't like how everyone pretty much gets stuck at a long table and only gets to socialize with the 2 or 3 people they happen to sit by. It gets seriously messy. I was pregnant last year, so didn't have a great time &amp; left early. Every year at least one person goes completely off the rails and is sick/passes out/tells off the boss. Everyone thinks it will be me this year since I couldn't drink last year. It's really nice, at a fancy, upscale Italian restaurant with open bar and menu. Spouses attend that one. </p> <p>Then we also have a holiday luncheon during a work day that is just employees but you still get to drink (yay!). We do a white elephant gift exchange at that one. </p> <p>DH's company doesn't do a spouse-invited holiday party.
