They caught fire. Instead of throwing them into the sink right next to said microwave to put out the fire and then throw them out, he ran through the hallway and to the freight elevator and somehow put the fire out. But left the evidence there. The email that our CFO wrote to the entire office to ask the person to come claim the socks was hilarious. They were all in w/c's so we had to drive a special van. It had a really high roof. One time, I had dropped a client off and had some time to kill, so I went to a grocery store with underground parking. I hate parking above ground at this store cuz the spots are so small so I went underground. When I went into the underground parking, my roof hit the chains that warn you you're vehicle is too big. I panicked and kept going. I made it under and it was ok, but knew I had to get out, so I went to the exit (without my roof hitting anything) but when I tried to pull out, the van go stuck in the exit. A girl was standing there and I burst into tears being like, wtf do I do. She told me to floor it so I did.. and I got out. Haha. I actually have an embarrassing microwave at work story. While I was home on maternity leave, I made a ton of lactation cookies and put them in the freezer. At home, I had to pop them in the microwave for a full minute for them to get them soft enough to eat. When I went back to work, I brought some in with me and just automatically put one of them in the microwave for a minute like normal. Within 30 seconds, our whole office was filled with smoke because the cookie had basically burnt from the inside out and started a tiny fire in the microwave. The worst part was, I did it again a few days later, although that time I only put it in for 15 seconds and caught it before the smoke got too bad. I had NO IDEA why my cookies were doing this at work and not at home until it finally dawned on me that the ones at home were completely frozen and the ones at work were already defrosted. Well, I thought I wasn't. But, apparently, I am. Today in my office at lunch I had a few mins to kill and had a bottle of Big Apple Red OPI nail polish in my purse and thought...what the hell, I'll touch up my toe that had chipped. But that damn thing wouldn't open, no matter how hard I twisted and twisted. So, I recalled an article I read years ago about loosening up stubborn polish bottles. I'd actually done it a few times at home with no incident...so...I zapped it in the microwave. 7 seconds was all it took. There. Was. An. Explosion. I screamed. I opened the microwave...it was a bloody mess. It looked like a murder scene. Holy crap, how am I going to clean this, and quickly?! I grabbed some paper towels to wipe it up and it just smeared and the paper towel stuck to the side of the microwave. There was only one thing left for me to do. Confess. And run to 7-11 where I cleaned them out of all the polish remover. I then spent the next 1.5 hours scrubbing like I'd never scrubbed before. 3 bottles of remover, 2 rolls of paper towels, some sweat and my pride later, it's good as new. I told my co-workers we must never speak of this again. </p> <p>Anyone else like to share an embarrassing story? Obviously, none of you all would be stupid enough to put nail polish in the microwave at work...but, perhaps something else? </p>
