We went through the same thing at 9 months - I went from pumping about 12-14 oz/day to only getting 7-9 oz the entire day. I was really worried about my supply, but my ped calmed my fears - she reminded me that the weaning process starts when your baby starts solids. DD really ramped up her solids intake at the same time that my supply tanked (obv my supply tanked *because* she ramped up her solids, but that wasn't obvious to me at the time), so I started just leaving what I pumped. I also started offering WCM with every solids meal (on the advice of my ped). She barely drank any WCM - maybe 3-4 sips per meal - but it got her used to it and made the transition to WCM at 12 months *much* easier. FWIW, I stopped pumping at 11.5 months and worked on transitioning DD to WCM during the day starting at that point. We continued to BF 2-3x/day until 14 months.

@Mamaof2: So encouraging that you got to 20 months! Neither of us is ready to stop yet.

I think at 11 months, it's totally fine to start giving WCM!

But I was a nut, so I pumped around the clock in order to be able to get to 12 months!

My supply tanked with my DS at 10 months when my period started back up - I managed to pump enough until he turned 12 months and then switched to a CM alternative. He nursed until he was 20 months so it didn't effect our nursing relationship.

With DD I had to supplement with CM at 11 months. Ped suggested CM rather than formula for 1 month and she did great with the transition! Again didn't effect her nursing.

So, I would supplement unless you planned on pumping past 12 months

I'd start him on WCM. At that point in my journey I just didn't have it in me to stress over supply.

Right now I'm running about a bottle short every day, but we've been able to cover it with what's in the freezer or weekend pumping. I'm only getting about 8 oz a day at this point. DS is 11 months old, but we don't plan to wean any time soon.
Should I work on my supply so I can pump through the summer, or start him on one cup of WCM or another milk at lunch every day? I'm so torn. I hate hate hate pumping, but worry that low supply during the day means the beginning of the end!
