I would say my DH is on the cusp. He feels very guilty and anxious when he is not at work. He goes in to work early and stays late. He has no time for anything else. I have asked him to work less.

I am not sure how much of it is his personality and how much is his workplace culture.

I tease my husband that he is a workaholic but this doesn't really apply to him because he does prioritize other things and it has not negatively affected him (the opposite actually). He just is VERY driven and Type A about work in a way I don't relate to!

DH, for sure! He's literally unavailable from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon. He carries his work phone at all times and checks his work email every 30 minutes when not at his computer. But his career is everything to him. He's in love with his job 1000%.
This year he was away on a voluntary work trip on my birthday and Mother's Day. (I got a diamond necklace as a thank you gift, though!)
It sucks for DD, but it doesn't bother me.

Me. 100% me. I've been working pretty hard since having my kid to turn work off, and have made a lot of progress, but yeah...

Not that I can think of. My ex was, and it's one of the (many) reasons we broke up.

The last three items definitely characterize my working life right now. I have a lot of flexibility, etc, but am under a lot of stress being the breadwinner and making a lot less than what we need monthly since my husband lost his job in February. I worry constantly about money, financial, etc. Going to work is a vacation from it some days from the worries at home. I'm also not getting a lot of sleep too. I think it's why I'm not losing weight and taking care of myself in general. So much stress, anxiety, and worry these days.

"The researchers used seven valid criteria when drawing the line between addictive and non-addictive behaviour.

Experiences occurring over the past year are rated from 1 (never) to 5 (always):

You think of how you can free up more time to work.
You spend much more time working than initially intended.
You work in order to reduce feelings of guilt, anxiety, helplessness or depression.
You have been told by others to cut down on work without listening to them.
You become stressed if you are prohibited from working.
You deprioritize hobbies, leisure activities, and/or exercise because of your work.
You work so much that it has negatively influenced your health."

Are you a workaholic? Do you have one in your life?
