It wasn't so long to be away from DD at first, and I got up to speed on what was happening at work. I think it really helped ease my transition. I could actually be fired for working on maternity leave (government work). I had no problem just coming back after a few months and it was nice to not use my brain in the meantime. Turns out my long-term guest teacher was HORRIBLE. The transition back was hard, because a of my teammates were bitter about it, but I'm glad I didn't know - what was I going to do about it?
