@Mrs. Lovejoy: I'd definitely recommend eating something with protein rather than carbs as well. Anything that won't break down into sugar 2 hours after you eat it.

If it's just the one hour test then I'd just eat a balanced breakfast after doing your workout :-)

@autumnlove: Thanks! Google is giving me varied answers, but it seems all it can do is potentially lower the result.

@BabyBoecksMom: I know! I don't understand how we all get such differing thoughts from our practitioners. I could probably find something else to eat that is protein instead of carb/fruit.

hmmm... I had to fast for both of mine so I didn't work out (didn't want to be super hungry). Also, I'm surprised your doctor said for you to eat toast (something that could potentially affect your glucose test) instead of sticking to protein.

IMO, since your doctor said you can eat, I would do the class and then eat something protein-rich (no carbs/fruit, etc) before going to your test.

I don't see why not. You should pass or fail if you have/don't have GD and the workout won't skew the results.

Good luck!

Anyone have insight into if you can workout before taking the 1 hour glucose test?

I'm 29W, haven't worked out in 2 weeks because my schedule hasn't aligned with my spin studio's schedule, but I finally got in tomorrow at 5:30 AM. My doc did say I could eat before (she recommended toast). So, I was going to work out at 5:30, eat around 6:30, then test around 8:00.
