I have a pair of Nikes that I love. I had a pair of New Balances but my dog destroyed the left shoe! Maybe I can buy a replacement shoe? Lol

I went to a running store for gait analysis and fitting too... Been using Mizunos and love them! Asics are my favorite though!

@Trailmix: Thanks for the info! I have extremely flat feet and wear out the outer heel, I notice it in my boots, which I resole every year.

Is it worth it to get a pair for outdoor running and a pair for indoor fitness classes? I am not a huge workout fiend yet, but I do plan to work up to it. I also don't want to spend a ton and right now, do not have access to a running store.

I wear Nikes lately, but used to have Asics that I really liked too. I was "analyzed" in the sneaker store, but I think some running stores have much better versions of that.
The sales guy did convince me to buy one pair for running outside (Nike Pegasus, I think) and another more cross-training type pair for in gym workouts, like classes and on the machines. He said it was really bad to wear your outdoor running sneakers to zumba or other classes inside. I dont know if I really believe him, since that is what I've done for years, but since neither were that expensive I bought two pairs.

Asics!! I used to work at a specialty running store where we analyzed customer's gate on a treadmill with a video camera and stuff so what's most important is that the shoes match your foot and stride.
So, if you have wide feet or a flat arch, here's a few recs for supportive shoes with a wide base:
Asics GT2170
Brooks Adrenaline
Saucony Hurricane or Omni

If you want shoes with a mix of support and cushion (warning-these tend to be the most expensive):
Asics Kayano
Mizuno Wave Rider or Wave Creation
Adidas Supernova

And finally, if you have a high arch and do not pronate (you can see if you wear out the outside of thr soles of your shoes, that's a good sign that you walk neutrally):
Asics Cumulus or Nimbus
Brooks Glycerin

Make sure the shoe is comfortable and is at least a half size, if not a full size, bigger than your regular dress shoe, there should be at least a finger's width of space between your toe and the front of the shoe!

Back before I was pregnant and lazy I wore Mizunos for running. I went to a running store and had an analysis done on my feet/my stride and the Mizunos were best for me. I think it's totally worth it to do that if you can find a running store.

What kind of sneakers are you using to workout, when you're using weights, doing aerobics or running? I am in the market for a new pair and could use some inspiration.
