I was worried until like 26 weeks, and then the nerves started to ease a little bit. I would be so nervous about not finding a heartbeat, ect. I think it's the normal mom-to-be worrying, we all have it!

I’ve felt the same way this whole pregnancy (and I’m 36 weeks tomorrow!!) due to 2 previous miscarriages. I just still can barely fathom in my mind that there will be a good outcome. I bought a Doppler at 13 weeks and it has eased my mind SO many times. I highly recommend it. Also, like PP have said, once you start feeling regular movement the anxiety fades somewhat. Good luck!

There is nothing you can do, but try to focus on the 12 week u/s. That means everything is doing A-oK! I think you will feel much more calm once you can feel the movement.

I haven't had a miscarriage, so I can't even imagine -- but I can tell you, this is our first pregnancy and I am a total wreck between appointments. I'm 20 weeks and it's only been the last week or so that he's been moving every day, thank goodness for that, but I do freak out if I go too long without feeling him. Even though I know it's still so early for that! Every time we go in for an ultrasound, I hold my breath until I see that he's bigger and has a heartbeat. And now not having any more ultrasounds is really bumming me out!

Just wanted you to know that you're not alone and that once your little bean starts moving, you will feel so much better :)

@shopaholic: Hang in there! There really isn't anything that takes that worry away. I had a friend tell that me that from the moment you find out you are a mom, you never have a worry free moment. You worry that they are growing healthy and then they are grown and you worry that you raise them right, etc.

We haven't been successful again, yet, but I know that I will worry when we see that positive. We are a bit jaded, but nothing I did or didn't do would have changed our fate. It's just what it was. Our baby's purpose was too much for this world, so she went straight up to heaven and I can only hope that she is working her little magic up there to get her a sibling soon.

I think that when you start to feel movement, you will feel a bit better. I never did and that's what started me to freak out. I never mentioned my deepest fears out loud to anyone and it was so hard to have them become a reality.

Hang in there and know that it will be all right. It's better for your baby if you don't stress and worry. Take those worrisome feelings and turn them to positive thoughts for your baby. Hugs!!!!! Keep us updated on how you are feeling. : )

@shopaholic: I have this one: (a friend gave it to me)
http://www.clinicalguard.com/id/sonoline-b-handheld-pocket-fetal-doppler--p-174.html?kw={keyword}&gclid=CJKypP-EvrICFcKDQgodXSAA6g

I probably didn't try until 12 weeks. At times it was a bit frustrating, but I was usually able to find it. I also bought a huge thing of ultrasound gel and put it all over which helped me find the spot. It'll be super low...

@mrsgreengrass - yup, I was hoping I wouldn't have to succumb to getting a doppler, but I just might. What brand/one did you buy that you could hear it at 10 weeks? Even at my 12 week appt. the Dr. couldn't hear HB on the doppler and I got an u/s (uterus was too deep they said).

@shopaholic: I totally understand! I have a fetal doppler and it's worked since 10 weeks. Maybe you could get one? I only use it when I have something happen that worries me.

I just read about a miscarriage/still birth at 23 weeks in a blog I follow (I'm at 22) and it totally restarted my anxiety!

It's going to take awhile for you to feel movement, so I'd suggest a doppler...and make sure everything is plugged in right. I almost had a heart attack once when I heard nothing, but the plug wasn't in all the way.

Thanks ladies for understanding and sympathizing! I know stressing about it won't change anything. I keep talking to baby to ask her to let me know she's OK in there. Any waves of nausea are welcome by me - it's at least a sign right?! I know I'll be counting the days till the next appt.

@highwire - Exactly! It doesn't make sense, but if you're in the situation, it makes perfect sense! :)

I'm so sorry you are struggling. My BFF's SIL was due with a baby the same week as me and then she had a miscarriage. I felt so bad for her and also terrified that it meant something might be wrong with my pregnancy too (even though that makes no sense!)

Just remember, obsessively worrying won't change anything. It won't "protect" your pregnancy from having problems or ending. But being stressed out can negatively impact your health, so try to be the best you can to yourself and find something that gives you peace. Can you go see a funny movie? Read an uplifting book? Get a manicure? Visualize a health baby? I do that last one constantly. Take care and we're here for you.

I felt the same way with my first pregnancy. I was just so worried all the time (which translated into an anxious mommy too, ugh). One of few thoughts that kept me slightly sane (until I started to feel her move) was that "it is in my favor for the baby to live. most babies do live otherwise we wouldn't all be here." I hope this little mantra helps, but I completely understand what you are going through :)

@travelingbrit: What she said. There is nothing special you can do.
Try to be nice to yourself and take your mind off it--anything that gives you that tingly--"it's being handled for me" feeling (mani/pedi? facial? DH doing the dishes?) would be good.

Try not to worry. Easier said than done, I know. Just think you only have a week left until your next appointment.
The anxiety doesn't fade, so you just have to cheer yourself on by counting down the days between appointments.

To preface, I had an early M/C in April at 6 weeks. I'm now finally at 15 weeks in this pregnancy and stopped the constant 24/7 worry about this pregnancy.
BUT NOW, my BFF just had a M/C this past weekend. She was due less than 2 weeks after my due date (w/baby #2). Actually, at her 12 week u/s they discovered she had a blighted ovum (just an egg that stopped growing, no fetus). All this time she had the hormones, her belly was a lot bigger than mine, etc. Heartbreaking to be sure. And I was just reading about Jennimac's 20-week m/c. :(

At this point where I'm past my 12 week u/s and waiting another week for my 16 week, I just feel SO ANXIOUS! How do I know baby is doing okay in there? There's really not much symptom-wise to make me feel "more pregnant".
I bought the Summer Heart to Heart monitor, but I can't hear anything (which maybe makes things worse), but it says not to try and use it till 21+ weeks. I just wish I could feel baby kick or something. I guess, I'm just venting some worries over here...
