We live in a cul de sac like place, and our neighbors' kids always hang out in front of our house and draws on our driveway almost every other day. We're "that family." It's just the three of us and I like to think we are respectful, quiet people. The 4 year old can get loud, of course, but we manage it. Sometimes the 13 year old who lives on the cul-de-sac comes down to shoot hoops but otherwise, there are no other kids on it (sad). We do quickly get out of the way when cars come home (it is rush hour, after all) and we take everything home that we came with. I LOVE it. It's a safe, fun place to play and we get some time to talk to neighbors, if they come outside while we're out there. It was one family that doesn't live on the block had four kids that would spend hours in front of my house. They would curse, fight, and litter. We wouldn't take the kids outside when they were around. They called my sweet 4 year old neighbor a b*tch once when his mom wasn't around. It never bothered me until my own LO would get stressed out about big kids riding their bikes too fast around him. They've also played football across the cul-de-sac and made me feel like LO couldn't play out there because he'd be in their way. So, yes it annoys me on occasion, but I don't think it's because it's "my" area. We live one house in from the end of the cul de sac. One mom and two boys who live another house down come play on the bikes and stuff in the end of it all the time, and another family lives about halfway down the block and comes a lot too. I would much rather kids playing in the end of it than just on the street where more cars would have to drive by. I love that I'm so close I can hear if they are out there playing because I willbring my kids out too. </p> <p>The two houses at the very end have older people whose children are all grown now. The kids were sometimes slow to move and that was annoying, but in general I didn't mind the kids playing.
